It's the turn of my most favourite guest character in the entirety of @criticalrole. Sprigg, who is played by Darin De Paul, is an old aventurer who is the sole survivor of his party (of a game Darin played with Matthew Mercer mother over 30 years ago) and suffer post-traumatic syndrome after that. The entirety of that background is amazing.

there’s so much to unpack in the less-than-a-minute bit i just listened to, including but not limited to:

sprigg and demistrik making a mnemonic device out of the acronym E.L.F in case they have to take down tricky-tricky sadboi vax

(“E for ‘eee god there’s an elf let’s grab him,’ L for ‘let’s grab that elf boy,’ F for ‘forsooth I shall grab this elf boy’”)

all of vox machina being able to hear that conversation

vax butting in, not to ask them not to jump him, only to let the record reflect that he is not an elf, nor was his mother

vax: we have vaguely pointed ears

percy: he has a vague point

keyleth pointing out how rude it is that people call vax & vex ‘elf boy’ and ‘elf girl’

the utter shock in sprigg’s voice when he says “he’s not an elf”
