what about ryan is the demon who ended up liking humanity a bit too much, so he ended up sticking around them and now is married and has a company but he really wants his best friend to believe that the paranormal exists and is trying for a long time but can't reveal himself

he is scared of ghosts and demons because he thinks he is a low level demon and the places they go have high level spn being so he is a scaredy cat and afraid for both his and his friends safety

but actually ryan is a VERY powerful demon (he doesn't know he is) his presence scares away other beings 60% of the time, the other 40% get scared when he starts being unhinged (see old city jail) cause that's when his powers really start acting up without himself or anyone else (except the supernatural) noticing the energy level (that's why he also gets very tired mentally after his solo investigation)

also you can see his demon form in complete darkness (cause yk darkness = scary stuff hence demon and etc i will expand about this more in a later post) but for humans its hard to see in dark so unless they really REALLY focus its not easy for any human to see it but the supernatural can and they can literally FEEL hell by just one glance at his true form

Thought about an AU where reader is an angel and she’s friends with Demon!Shane and Demon!Ryan.

angel wings aren’t as big as demon wings but they’re a bit long because of the feathers.

Feathers are a very pale pink.

They’re also gilded around the edges.

They find out you’re an angel by accident.

Shane was gonna playfully poke fun at you until Ryan reminded him that you didn’t know what they were yet.

Your halo was glittery and silver.

That plus the pale pink feathers were the signs of a baby angel.

That explains why they couldn’t sense you and vice versa.

You were too young to fully recognize demon energy and where the source was.

And you were young so your energy was still very week.

They felt a vague “energy” but California is so populated and they work in an office building so they just disregarded it.

They didn’t know why the hell a baby angel was allowed to be on earth.

You’re going with them to a haunted location and they argue about when they should tell you about their true nature.

You end up finding out about them the same way they found out about you.

They want to help you calm down.

They know that being there would only make it worse.

Ryan’s heart breaks wen he sees you shivering and Shane has to pull him out of the room.

You still go on the trip with them.

You know they weren’t they types of demons to really do anything. They enjoyed being more mischievous than malicious.

They sit and let you touch their horns and wings.

You still can’t help feeling incredibly nervous.

VERY BIG protec attac energy around you especially in that haunted building.

You’re frightened and Shane ALMOST says “fuck it“ by just letting out his demon form so he can wrap his wings around you.

But he turns to see Ryan and he has that “hoe don’t do it” look on his face.

They hold your hands when they can.

When there’s an investigation and it’s just you 3 in the building they wrap their tails around your wrist to help ground you.

Ryan does it more than Shane.

Ryan takes a more protective approach.

Shane gets defensive and antagonistic towards other spirits because how DARE they upset their angel?!?!.

Shane gets a bittersweet feeling when you hide behind him during an investigation.

One day they find you crying in your angel form.

You feel guilty about getting a crush on anything let alone demons.

You’re just incredibly confused and frustrated.

You cling to them and cry.

You calm down when Shane wraps his wings around you and you feel their claws running through your feathers.

They realize they should go talk to Steven, Andrew, and the try guys to see if there’s anything they could do to help you.

Ryan eventually realizes later on that, that was the first time either of them ever felt angel feathers.

look, yeah, Shane is a demon but the idea that Ryan is actually the demon is hilarious because what if he’s not particularly good at being a demon, which is why he’s so terrified all the time, like he’s a demon clerk or something that makes sure the hauntings and possessions never go too over the top and Shane is over there provoking the shit out of the supernatural and Ryan is using all of his powers to keep this giant idiot safe, and when they visit relatively benign ghosts or retired demons who just chill in demon pits in bars Ryan is just like “god. i am so sorry, i am so sorry about how rude my friend is, he doesn't get it.”

I know the joke is that Shane is a demon protecting Ryan, but I like to think Ryan’s the demon who constantly has to defend Shane because he’s constantly attracting danger with all the dumb taunty shit he gives ghosts
