A Hell of a Good Time

(@howtodisassembleyourdeviant and I talked about this au ages ago, and now seems like a great time to put it into action!)

"- And though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen." Finished Father Reed, putting one hand on his crucifix and performing the sign of the cross, murmuring softly in Latin before smiling at his congregation.

"Be well, brothers and sisters! I'll be here bright and early next Sunday for confessional, don't be late! Have a good week everyone!" With a sigh, he stepped down from the pulpit and stretched a bit, his back slightly stiff from the amount of talking he'd done. Jesus, he really needed to ease up on how much he covered every Sunday; even he was getting tired of hearing his own voice. But, he reasoned, maybe it would draw the attention of the new member of the church that he'd spied coming around more and more, and keep him invested in his message.

This same man had shown up a few weeks in a row now, always shooting the Father a smile that made feelings stir in his gut that he hadn't felt since his time as a teenager in the police academy, way before he'd turned his life around and preached towards peace instead of bringing in criminals. He thought his experience with the opposite sex was in the past, but of course, he just couldn't help but pine just a little after the attractive dark haired man, especially with the seemingly innocent look in his deep brown eyes. They were captivating, and had even made their way into his dreams at this point, the mysterious stranger always leaving him wanting by being just out of reach even in dreams.

Gavin was drawn from his thoughts as the man in question approached, his heart rate kicking up immediately with the proximity. "Ah, a new face. Father Reed, at your service." He said with a smile, offering his hand to the man. "I hope you enjoyed our service, Mister...?"

The Demon finally lured the Angel into his bed, but the Angel made the Demon fall in love instead.

Sooo... I was in A Mood for Demon!AU, and I felt the urge to draw demon!Connor and angel!Ona being disgustingly cute in bed 👀 (THANK YOU FILTH ANON!! I’M STILL THINKING ABOUT SMUTTY THINGS).

Here you have a quick sketch that got out of hand and I ended up throwing some quick shadows at 4am like the idiot I am WOOOOO

But after centuries of Connor trying to charm his little angel into his arms, one day he found himself with his hands full of this fluffy, warm and cheery little angel that he would go to the hottest fires of Hell and punch Satan himself on his face, and even face God while flipping him the bird.

Little Connor knows they both held bets to see how many more centuries could Ona still be oblivious to Connor’s feelings, how many could Connor deny such feelings and justify he only wanted to do his job (do bad things. Partially a lie), and also snicker at the poorly half-assed excuses Connor gives as he is questioned why hasn’t he corrupted the little angel.

This is better than Earth’s telenovelas.

Against Expectations

The trouble with being an angle was that you also had stuffy demon counterpart. It wasn’t that Gavin hated his opposite number but Nines was so stiff and by the rules that it pained him. Someone up high had decided that it was in the interest of all living creatures that angels and demons were partnered. Gavin’s musings were cut short when his attention snapped to his current charge who was trying to lick a battery.

Diving in on invisible wings, Gavin got the first lick and drained the whole battery. He felt a bit frazzled and his wings were standing on end but it was worth it.

“That goes against rule 34, subsection 3e,” Nines drawled from behind him. His black leathery wings were folded up tight behind his back and he looked as impassive and unimpressed as ever. It made Gavin shrug as he shook his own white, feather covered wings out. One of the feathers came loose and drifted towards the ground. Before it could be seen, Nines had snatched it out of the air and stuffed it in his pocket.

“Almost broke rule 3. Again. Don’t be seen.” He pulled a little notebook from his pocket and made a note. He was on his third volume already and the year wasn’t even half way done yet. It made Gavin sigh.

They were meant to be meeting up with Hank and Connor that evening. Though if things were to progress as usual, it might not happen. Some days Connor spent most of the morning trying to find Hank who hid in more and more obscure bars around the city. There was a reason Detroit had such a high occurrence of what humans called miracles. It tended to involve Hank, a bar and some poor sod down on his luck. Even with Connor’s best efforts to sour the deals and tempt people into damnation, Hank was frighteningly good at his job - especially when he was drunk.

“Nines!” the shout distracted them from where they were trying to whisper and sway the choice of a woman in the supermarket. In the end, she shook her head and put down both the lube and the cucumber, opting for a loaf of white bread instead.

“Why the cucumber?” Nines groused as they turned to Connor.

“It was the healthier option and could lead to a good time too,” Gavin shrugged.

“Nines,” Connor panted as he approached, wings twitching in a frenzy.

“I do wish you’d stop calling me that.”

“I was condemned to damnation a whole nine minutes before you.But enough of that. Have you seen Hank?”

Worry seeped through them when they realised that Hank wasn’t in any of his usual haunts. No bars were reporting a good streak of bets being won. There were no rumours of a wine store finding some relic in their basement worth a small fortune. Not even an off-licence having a run of winning lottery tickets.

Gavin casually shoved a pedestrian so they tripped over their shoelaces. At least they almost hit their nose on the $20 which would be enough to get them that purse they really wanted. He sniggered until Nines pulled out his notebook and cited yet another rule he’d broken.

“Hey! Con!” A shout drew their attention and they looked up in time to see Hank unsteadily spread his wings. “Look! I can fly and spread luck!”

With that, Hank took a nosedive off the building. His wings weren’t spreading fast enough and Connor was flying as fast as he could to catch him. They collided mid air with a thud and Gavin could see corruption and help sprinkle from them in equal measure.

“What,” he frowned at Nines, “you not going to make a note of how many rule and regulations they broke?”

“No.” For the first time, Nines’ smile broke through his stern facade. “The notebooks are for your transgressions alone. I need to prove you’re the worst angel in existence.”

“Why?”

“Because then you’ll be assigned the best demon to keep an eye on you.”

A knowing smile spread across Gavin’s lips and he snuck a glance at Hank and Connor. Indecency didn’t even begin to cover what they were up to midair, it was just as well they were invisible to human eyes.

“And that wouldn’t happen to be you, would it?”

“There is a distinct possibility. But it would be against Rule 74 for me to reveal that.”

Carefully, Gavin reached for Nines’ breast pocket and flipped the notebook open, ready to make a new entry. However, his eyes boggled when he saw the previous entries. They weren’t the rules he’d broken. Instead, in perfect writing, the notebook was filled with one liners.

You still don’t care for the rule but neither do I

Taking the pen, Gavin made a new entry.

Hey. I know there’s already and angel/demon AU but... imagine a Good Omens AU with Connor and Ona. Think about it. They meet on off occasions throughout history and eventually form an odd sort of friendship. But when they find out the world is going to end they have to work together to stop the apocalypse. And all while hiding their motives from their brother and sister who are working hard to assemble their armies

Okay. Okay anon. I absolutely LOVE Good Omens. I read the book long ago (in fact was one of my first english books) and I loved it so much. So, fuck YES this AU.

I have a dilemma thought, because both would be amazing and hilarious either as a demon or angel.

Ona having an angelic face and appearance but is a cunning and witty demon? Making all kind of misdeeds that Connor cannot help but recognise they are clever. Wrong, but so clever. She oozes confidence, bullshits through everything with a grace that it’s mesmerising to watch. Don’t forget the inappropriate language she uses, especially in front of her angel. And Connor, sweet Connor being an absolute darling and always wearing his three piece suit and bowtie, trying all the human foods and collecting books? His warm smile and tinkling eyes shines brighter than the sun itself. He always reminds Ona of a cute puppy eager for pats.

But then again, Connor would be an astounding demon. First buttons of his shirt popped open, sunglasses at night, that tiny tattoo that Ona finds herself staring quite often. His well-cared and well-loved Bentley. Mischievous, comes up with brilliant ideas... He has been walking the earth since the beginning of times, has seen humanity grow and change. And he, deep down, is happy to have made an acquaintance with a certain pretty angel who, the absolute dork, gave away her flaming sword to help humans survive.

Pretty angel who cannot stop eating sweet foods and has a massive sweet tooth, has a bookshop filled to the brim and who loves wearing long flowy skirts and pretty blouses with the cute shoes. Connor just wants to wrap her in bubble wrap and keep her safe and sound. He also noticed how, whenever she comes to her house and talks to his plants, they somehow puff and shine brighter (he calls them traitors when she’s gone. He will not admit he’s jealous of his plants).

Also, imagine Connor going into incognito mode as the nanny. Owning it and rocking that red lipstick. Yes.

On both options, you got a pissed off Richard and Cel because how dare their sibling mingle with each other. Ew. (They are in deep deep denial of their mutual attraction. Connor and Ona don’t give a fuck in the end, Richard and Cel should take them as an example).
