After all, she was one of the few who had uninhibited access to his most inner of sanctums, able to come and go as she wished without telling him.

"I have lots of stories," she agrees, smile bright. "I'm a bit of a collector. Tell you what, I'll share some of mine if you share some of yours." Leanne folds her hands as she leans forward a bit, interested. "What sort of story do you want?"

She had so many, it was hard to choose just one. Better to let Robin choose if she had a preference. "We could make a night of it, even. That's a thing people do at sleepovers, right? Tell stories. And eat snacks, we'll want snacks."

"my, how you've grown, robin." still, she crouches, so she can be eye level with her daughter, hand extended outwards to the girl. she sees so much of herself within her, and she wonders whether their similarities extend far past physical appearance. "you've got a big book tucked under your arm there? want to tell me what you've been reading?"

Baki was not a   …   comforting presence.  The words to soothe any worry or preserved flaw did not come naturally to him; nor did the confidence to know where or if to put his hands on the other. His arms remained rigid at his sides, and he kept his back pin-straight, but he willed the gears in his head to move and churn something out. “I'm sorry, Miss. Robin,” he settled on, stiff and formal. The pinnacle, he's sure, that she's heard time and time again.  Everyone is sorry, but they don't want to be as sorry as her, misery needs company. 

“Prehaps you should   …”  He trailed off, find something else is heavy on his tongue,  but that was the shinobi way - wasn't it?  Once one mission was over you just picked up the next one, then the next; rinse and repeat until you were dead.  No, @demon1co shouldn't move on to the next empty thing, it would serve nothing. He cleared his throat, softly. 

“You should stop thinking so little of yourself. A person is not only the sum of their parts."  He dips his head to look at her, it would be too familiar to smile, so he doesn't - but his face is not unkind, or he hoped so. 

“You hold more value than the things you can do, Miss. Robin.”

It was a terribly hard thing to remember, whenever Khaladore's voice trickled over her ears, whenever her own took her insecurities and ran wild with them, that nothing was wrong with her. Not literally - she was healing, growing stronger every day. The poison had left her system sometime ago, and she made a mental note to double back and thank both Sanji and Nami for always providing her with clementine juice to boost her immunity.

And neither metaphorically. She'd done the bravest thing she could think of, chasing her dreams and leaving home all in one fell swoop. She missed the familiar comforts, all wrapped in the image of Merry's warm, familiar face, but she'd been locked away for long enough. Usopp was ever inspiring her to seize the day. So was their crew.

Their. She reminded herself that word was hers as much as anyone's on this ship. She was not the sharpest fighter, not yet, choosing to fight from a distance with wits and newfound poisons of her own. That was still enough. Kaya smiled at Robin, "I know, I'm sorry. I didn't really mean it like that. It's still hard sometimes, believing this is my life." Her eyes fell to the X tattooed across her wrist. "Pirates used to be characters in Usopp's stories - not me!"

Mr 3 has always been the display of sophistication when it comes to manners, finesse at each word spoken—leaving no room for anyone to doubt his composure...but not this time. As both agents shared a Banchi, waiting to arrive at their next destination to pick up another Agent. The artist sat curled, childishly holding his knees much like his teen partner would do, looking at the window as if on purpose to avoid facing the woman across the seats. “ Tsc….I see how it is, ga ne! So improper! I may NOT have the power to go against your orders, Miss All Sunday. However be AWARE that this PERSONAL AGGRESSION won't be forgotten in my books! From all the people I could partner with for this mission.... Why is has to be that hateful ballerina ? ”

Finally the artist turned around, crossing his legs properly while facing her. “Is there any chance we could negotiate that?? To come with a mutual agreement, ga ne…!? ”

I know you didn’t send for Robin, but I’m still giving options for her anyway!

CAROL:

Peter is my only Marvel muse at the moment. I’d love to give him more same age hero interactions, after so long in public consciousness as a teen. He’s New York stationed, so I think that’s pretty easy — and I think he’s served on the Avengers before? But also, who’s to say heroes don’t run into each other seeking downtime and leisure? At the same bars or what have you.

I could fit Raven, Garfield, and Jason into the Marvel universe with a little more finesse. I believe the original Titans were stationed in New York, and Jason’s always been a city boy, so I can see him moving and trying to establish himself outside of his family. He’s definitely trying to dodge the scrutiny of more established, less lethal hero teams.

Drucilla is a forger in her modern/comic-adjacent verse. I can see her getting wrapped up in work from a friend of a friend’s, that so happens to be on the team or connected somehow. Maybe she gets in trouble, getting in the middle of the wrong hero-villain conflict! (I’m always down for that.) I’d love to give her more female friends.

ROBIN:

Robin and Nami and/or Kaya, of course! Nami is a given, because I always want more for the women of the Straw Hats. Hanging out, on quests together, maybe even full aus where Nami left with Robin around Enies Lobby (for what reason, I don’t know, but imagine!) Writing my au for Kaya, I like the idea that, as she learns about poisons and takes back that trauma, she develops a little bit of a morbid sense of humor herself.

I think Talissa would be a neat interaction. She’s a former Thriller Bark pirate trying to find her purpose after taking down Moria with the Straw Hat crew. I can see them having long talks about life, dreams about the future. She also likes morbid humor. If anyone could help her find her way, it’s Robin.

Honestly, I’d be happy to send anyone her way — I think Zoro and Law would be easiest, due to frequent proximity, and I have no doubt she’d have a good time teasing them about their gruff natures. That kind of thing makes me think of fake dating (platonic or otherwise) for some kind of ruse, just to really play into the shenanigans.
