STATUS: early stages of outlining

SUMMARY: Just off the coast of Telikos lie the islands of Bythos, Pontus, and Tethys, together known as the Isles of Poseidon, which serve as a natural barrier between the mainland and the dark Voreai Thalassa, or the North Sea, beyond. Few are daring enough to journey beyond Poseidon, preferring to travel south along the coast instead, for those who do never return, or are never the same when they do.

Despite this, a misfit band of young pirates aboard The Red Ghost make voyaging beyond the islands their newest goal, looking to prove themselves to the world and to the veteran pirates who often laugh at their amateur raids and sprees. With new members aboard and yet another bounty over their heads, the crew sails North into their most dangerous adventure of all.

CREW:

Charlotte Monroe —  Feisty, protective, and kind-hearted, Charlotte has been a pirate for only two years, after abandoning her boring middle-class life in order to seek adventure.

Gabriel Hudson — Street-smart, observant, and emotionally closed-off, Gabriel has known nothing but the pirate’s life, having grown up as the only son of two notorious pirate lords. 

Parker Gray — Adventurous, daring, and nosy, Parker is anxious to delve straight into the life of a pirate after leaving his crowded, lower class home in search of a way to support his family.

Aera Gray — Cautious, kind, and attentive, Aera is reluctant to join her brother Parker in his latest adventure, but knows it could be a good (if unconventional) way to break out of her shell.

Kya Richards — Bold, serious, and inquisitive, Kya has jumped from ship to ship before landing amongst the crew of The Red Ghost, building a reputation as a headstrong fighter who can’t be fooled.

i was sitting in the park today sweating out of my mind from the heat, and i was like. that branch could kill me if it fell. but it doesn’t wanna fall or its gonna be dead. dead is not good! so, uh, take this. gen taglist (ask to be +/-) and transcript under the cut!

life sustains life. 

life is as life creates in an avoidance of what death decays; a branch on a tree keeps struggling to hold onto the leaves on its arms; the fox sleeping beneath the tree is content in the struggle of life versus life

the nature of the living is to continue dying; 

days are spent in a haze of what if, what if, as the wind blows and the gutters shake and the family huddles in the bathroom waiting for the storm to pass, holding each other in the dark; the fox hides in the trunk of the tree lying in wait of the death howling behind the curtain of a martyr

death sustains life in static. 

death creates the ground in which the flowers bloom; death creates the clock in which we all adorn our memories; death takes and takes and takes what death needs. life becomes irrelevant as the possibility of death becomes a notion of bad luck rather than a fundamental; 

life rebels against death; 

life becomes the natural enemy of the end; the fox finds his way into the wrecked home of a would-be family; the glass shattered across the floor and the nails in fallen would show the violence of a death long-gone; the fox mourns the loss but revels in the open cans of peaches spilled across the dirty floor and the open, warm fridge. 

death becomes a stepping stone to time while life becomes an agent of rebellion fighting against itself; sleep death and sustenance become maintenance rather than fundamental, and the fox rejoices, content in the bedding made in a little girl’s old bed.

you’re the expanse of the ocean my feet don’t dare explore; you erode, erode, from the bliss of an anger you don’t understand. the moon steals the vitality from your eyes and lights the night; your sleep has been tainted by the home your heart lacks.

i’m the end of us; i’m the end of the mortality of two undiscovered by the heat of the sun and the beating hearts of a car speeding down the highway with the clock reading AM and the stars guiding the path us down to earth; i’m all i’ve ever been

you’re the beginning of forever; you’re the sugar rush of candy on a summer day with heat so blistering we were hoodies, anyway. it’s the only wise decision you’ve ever made; you’re all you’ll ever be

i find the mirror still gives me your reflection; an arm around the shoulder and a smile on your face, but oh, what did you ever do for me? nothing, you and i were a beginning and an end but no middle

there’s a love story carved into every everything, love, and ours is a bitter trick; you’re no sun and i’m nothing to revolve around. that never stopped us, did it?

oh, you’re warped, darling. 

flooded, a wreck at sea with an achor far below, anchoring an identity you no longer have your nails in; 

who are you when you’ve become an ash to the flame of history? who are you when you’ve become the bitterness turning your heart to a stone

sinking, sinking, drowning you in your anger as though stoking the flames of the past, the war waged in your mind an empty battle cry to the starless sky

the enemy of time becomes the weapon of eternity;

your fear becomes your savior when the clouds begin to thunder; 

the identity you’ve become a servant to drifts away within the ocean;

and you’re left adrift in a world meant for dust darlings and sun reapers

who are you when you’re warped?

brittle and broken like an old church

or strong as the steel in your gaze?

if we’re meant to watch the world as though we are detached from it, why must gravity keep us grounded? gravity never does much else; how many people haver you met up in the clouds, living up their highs and crashing back down as comets, burning, burning, burning out. 

a shooting star is one falling toward oblivion, burning all colors of the rainbow to light a trail; 

to become the butterfly that flapped its wings; 

and when you fall, crashing, screaming, take all the shards from your broken heart and fashion yourself a coffin out of the meteorite; fashion yourself the deathbed you brought on to start the flash, the bang the world screams for

if death is not enough, what is? 

if death is not enough to be celebrated than nothing is celestial; the stars cry as thunder crashes

weeping, why, why, what is cruelty? 

the stars receive answer from the lightning, striking the place in which you rest; 

the lightning answers in a swift motion against the city, a black-out, a memorial, a living hell

when has the world fallen enough?

plummeting, plummeting, plummeting like a star; we’re not in orbit

the sun we follow burns harsher than anything the world has ever seen, a ripple across the universe as the stars recieve the news in hushed whispers

your broken heart bolts are breaking, darling, but what is there to do? 

what is there to do when you’ve already put yourself in your cage? 

you brought on your meteor shower

my hands burn, burn, baby // s.w. — june 7, 2020

working on the outline for dreams and it’s going about as well as you can expect for something i haven’t worked on in months. so i took a break and listened to disenchanted and uhhhh blasphemy i guess. image transcription under the cut.

my hands burn, burn, burn through he bright red glowing in front of me; the stars bowing as the notions of eternity are rewritten underneath the moonlight in a stream two-inches high, high enough to drown and cold enough to freeze. 

you burn, too; your tears burn as you scream at me to stop it, stop it! it doesn’t need to be this way! but darling, darling it’s been this way for so long. it’s been too long. you don’t remember, you never remember, but i do, i do and it’s time for the heavens to come crashing down as i burn them away. 

it’s time for your gold-painted nails to reach the clouds; to touch that which you so desire, don’t you want to know what holy tastes like? don’t be disappointed by how bitter it tastes on your tongue — don’t dwell on how it tastes like my funeral, the rotten flowers on my casket. it’s all for you, darling; you’re a phoenix. you’ll come back and you’ll burn brighter than any god ever has, anything unholy will burn as your gaze drifts over the land, over the sky.

i’m an arsonist, i’m the villain, but it’s for you, it’s for you, i’m going to bring it all down to your level and watch you sink anyway; sink low enough and you’ll be as low as me, darling, down here with the matches. smoke never tasted so sweet. 

i’ll watch you burn away heaven. it was always about you. you were always the one who’d burn brighter in death, i had to, i had to, darling, to lift that crown atop your head sitting like an anchor to this ground. you’re more than a memory but less than a universe; what are you? 

trick question. 

you’re nothing. you’re everything. you’re the world from ever bushfire to extinction event and every footprint in the mud. does it sting? do you know why i did it? do you know what you did to deserve this fate? 

does gold feel holy anymore?

@eloandrianos got me thinking last night about what eternal even means, and decay and empires, and all that jazz, but i was SLEEPY so i had to go to bed before i finished. don’t you hate when that happens?
