this is my smart fortwo!! she's a 2008 model and i got her for about $3500 (not all at once. still making the payments 😅) she was in very good condition (minus the massive crack across the windshield) and all i had to do to her running again was replace her battery :3 very good gas mileage for an 8 gallon tank [ed.: for yankees, that's 30L] and an excellent car for Gettin' Around Town :3 i live in america so i feel like people notice it a lot, it's a very silly littol car
Thanks for indulging my Smart picture wishes, dear commenter of my Smart post! I am especially happy to see these stateside, showing The Land Of The Gratuitous Size (which at least in the automotive sphere is not exclusively a cultural factor) still features people ready and eager to work with the least car they actually need. And another thing I like about Smarts are the ways in which the brand facilitated that! It had a split tailgate, and the passenger seat could fold down!
So all you guitarists who only ever drive and steer at crawling pace can precariously rest your Fender on top of two the guitar cases you could've put it in instead!
And even with both seats up, I can personally attest the trunk is large enough to pretty comfortably hang around in (the load floor is a bit high, but it's understandable - there's an engine under there!).
And I recently found yet more from chatting up an owner to inquiring on the funky structures on their rear wheels (they assured me they pertained to a factory snow chain system called "click clack", but the internet can't seem to attest to that): there were official bike racks, comical though they were!
If you're wondering why it's carrying the bike like a child showing you their plushie, it seems to maintain some rear visibility and position the bike's extra width above the height of many of the things you may brush beside - the wider sections of other cars, guard rails, etc.
But of course, Smart's own accessories pale in comparison to what its owners were able to come up with!
Really, with enough effort even a tradie could make it work!
Or at least, so I kept telling actual tradie and blog pillar @demonessss, much to her chagrin.
