Does Elester use any weapons, or just his powers?

Predominantly just his powers! He has blue flame magic, that can also appear purple and red (it's hottest when it's dark crimson) and he typically prefers either augmenting something's mind into anguish and then just setting them on fire over anything else, but! On his own plane, sometimes you have to get a bit more creative since the power difference is not so great as it'd be between him and anything in the mortal realm.

In his own realm he actually takes a completely different form. It's a bit like the "biblically accurate angels" thing where their kind are more conceptual than physical, at least as physical as us, so it's more...balanced, I suppose, and there are several different kinds of "attacks" between two of their own kind fighting, some would qualify more as Weapons than Just Magic.

If he did have a weapon though he'd probably love a staff :*)

Lore for demonfell for some reason:

So, it's called demonfell but they're not actually demons. Or I guess they are, but not in the traditional sense. The demons and angels and many other beings in that world are actually just beings from other, neighboring dimensions (not alternate universes, just to clarify).

Those on the mortal plane of course didn't understand this, and thusly identified them as demons/angels/etc, forming religions and beliefs based on things of those nature, as mortals do. I never actually picked proper names for them, so I'll use their improper names for the time being, but angels are one specific race, while demons are actually composed of several different ones.

The kind of demons Elester and Raviel are, which I'll call sapphire demons for my own sanity, were actually once related to the angels. Their races sort of stem from the same one, split over many, many, many millennia. They are no longer "genetically" comparable really, but that's why Rus and Sans (don't have nicknames for them yet, they're part of the angel race in this au) call them "cousins" (and for other reasons I won't get into).

Typically, it's very difficult to travel between dimensions for most beings, but angels have very unique abilities that allow them to easily traverse most planes (not all though). They took it upon themselves, for the most part, to keep an eye on the mortal plane, and help out here and there. They're very powerful, ancient beings, who typically have a soft spot for mortals.

Sapphire demons are also incredibly powerful, though not usually as much so as the angels (with Elester and Raviel and a few others being exceptions), though their specific abilities vary greatly. The reason I chose the temporary name sapphire is because most, if not all, do at least share one ability: their magic, while on the mortal plane, manifests looking like blue fire. It can change colours, but that can vary demon from demon, with Elester's primarily being blue, purple, or red, and Raviel's mostly being blue, green, and yellow.

Still thinking about little Elester so I'll share the old au idea <3

An important part of the demonfell lore involves a large war that began when the brothers were still very young. Raviel (sans) is a good bit older than Elester (papyrus) compared to how I usually interpret any of the brothers, with him typically being teenage-equivalent by the time Elester is "born". As opposed to the usual "plot" where the brothers grow up together in their realm, in this au, to protect him, Raviel takes an opportunity to throw Edge into the mortal realm when he's still very young.

He is found by Toriel, the church runner/preacher-type-person of a nearby town. She went to investigate the strange feelings she was getting emanating from a local forest, only to find an incredibly strange child. Right away she could tell he wasn't monster, but he was very scared and clearly very young, so even despite her suspicions, she took him back to her home near the church.

It became increasingly obvious he was some type of demon, one she'd never seen in any texts before, but strangely enough, he didn't seem overly affected by anything holy. He could handle crosses, holy water, even come directly into the church with her with no issue, apart from perhaps seeming a bit more easily tired than usual.

Try as she might, she couldn't find anything about what Elester might truly be, but she does realize he could be in danger if hunters catch wind of him residing in their small town.

From that point, it can actually branch out into a few different ideas I've had: one, Toriel notifying hunter allies of her own and getting him okayed as peaceful enough to leave alone, two, Toriel taking him to a very large old school and to an old, close friend of hers (Gaster) in order to help her conceal him via a special artifact that makes him appear mortal, or three, the very dramatic angsty one I won't get into (it's sad).

My personal favorite to think about is the one where he can just live there with her, safely, as he gets older, with the other characters slowly coming into play over time (or in some scenarios, even involving mv characters, too)

I rarely talk about them but the demon brothers mean a lot to mean, esp Elester, he’s so wonderful <333 He’s ridiculous n he loves humanity despite everyone else viewing them as basically insects he’s the weird horse girl of the demons bc he loves humans so much and loves to pretend to be one n they’re all like. Im a very laid back kind of person. I like relaxing for the most part on my days off, and spending time with the person who means the most to me. In getting to know me, I’m a bit stand offish at first, and seldom will make the first move in talking with someone. But once I’m emotionally present, I’m there for good. I like feeling secure, and I don’t like a lot of yelling or loud noises.

Personality wise, I’m a very sensitive introvert. I have a hard time with trying to not take things seriously, especially if it sounds bitterly sarcastic or overly negative.

I have ptsd and it most comes across as depression, but on occasion I have manic tendencies, so I’ll tend to do a total house clean or hike or something to try to wear myself out since I can’t sit still to save my life. Part of my mental disorder is that focusing on something is hard for me. I struggle with reading or with watching things unless I’m already super into it.

However, some of my better qualities is that I’m a good listener, and if advice is needed or requested, I have a lot to draw from. I strive for honesty, and I’ll do my best to be kindly honest. I care deeply very quickly, and I’m loyal to a fault.

And some trivia: my favorite color is green, my decoration style is owls, snakes, mushrooms, and skulls. I have a massive tea cabinet. And my favorite hobby is foraging for mushrooms and edible plants in my area (it’s a security thing. In case I run out of money I can still eat)

Hmmm, I’m surprising even myself here when I say I think a good partner for you would be Elester (Demonfell Papyrus)!

Elester is rather odd for a “demon”, even amongst his own kind, and the mortal world endeared him from the first time he’d ever been summoned. For the most part, he’s laid back, calm, and has a playful sense of humor.

He finds mortals curious, but charming, and while he lacks understanding of social cues and tone, he is very patiently curious, and certainly doesn’t cross any drawn lines. Once the two of you have become more familiar with each other, it would be important to Elester to have a solid understanding of your boundaries and interests, he’s very open and straightforward , and will ask questions to help him better understand you. It’s only once he’s achieved that better understanding that more of his own personality comes through, a bit cheeky, a little possessive, but he’s respectful, and very affectionate.

He would enjoy listening to you or spending quiet time together, just as much as he would enjoy helping you clean or work any bouts of mania out of your system by whatever means you prefer. He let’s you set the pace and just enjoys the ride, always happy to learn or comfort or help out with whatever he can.

He’s very loyal, and not quick to anger, protective, and very mindful of your preferences and boundaries. Has a little bit of crow tendencies, or maybe cat would be more accurate, and will bring you small gifts he knows aligns with your interest from time to time. He doesn’t take much very seriously, so he may help you relax, but isn’t dismissive, and is very good for comforting and listening. After a lot of time together, you would find yourself with a very dedicated and loving partner!

Sexuality Headcanon: Pan…

Gender Headcanon: The very concept of gender confuses him greatly, but he predominantly uses he/him pronouns since that’s what mortals usually use for him. His gender is he doesn’t like wearing clothes and the inside of a warm, clean house while it’s snowing outside.

A ship I have with said character: The concept of relationships also confuses Elester greatly, his kind don’t really…do that. That being said, a good partner for him would be someone patient with a BIG heart who’s willing to put up with/help steer his ambiguous morality.

A BROTP I have with said character: When I said relationships, I meant like. ANY relationships, but if that were more of a thing, most definitely his Undyne, and possibly Mad Mew Mew equivalent from his AU, or even Grillby! Outside of their AU, he gets along well with anyone who amuses him, so other Papyri and Undynes especially

A NOTP I have with said character: Anyone who’s goal would be to “fix him”. He’s a demon.

A random headcanon: Can and will break/melt/destroy things out of curiosity. The mortal realm is very novel to him, and given how powerful he is, he’s always curious as to how he can interact with the world and change it, though he’s not particularly aggressive unless provoked pretty thoroughly.

General Opinion over said character: He’s such a bastard. He’s an overgrown cat. I love him a lot 60/10

Maybe "Habits & Mannerisms" with Void and Demonfell Papyrus?

Habits and mannerisms - Void and Elester

Void, hm, well, as far as mannerisms go, over the years of multiversal traveling, he’s developed something of a sort of…regal air? He comes off very knowledgeable, calm, if a bit cold, and he moves very smoothly, very quietly, almost dreamlike. He keeps his expressions schooled for the most part, and rarely smiles unless he’s around people he’s more comfortable with. He’s graceful, I suppose, though he’s still got a powerful stride, and when someone’s in trouble with him, it’s very easy to tell given how his demeanor shifts, even if visually very little changes.

As for habits, he still has that militaristic posture, and whenever standing will usually automatically fall back into it. His tail is also a big snitch on his emotions, if you know how to look for it, so he has a habit of trying to keep it obscured when he can. He’s got a lot of weirder little habits, like a specific way of brushing his teeth, or a specific order of which rooms he cleans first or tasks to tackle, and unfortunately, he struggles a lot with mild memory issues, so he has a habit of making lots and lots of short little lists.

I don’t know if you could call it a habit but he’s a chronic adopter. Mother hen at heart and he can and will adopt people he knows need help.

Elester’s mannerisms are. Unique. He’s very powerful, and you can tell that just by the way he carries himself, but he’s very…cat like? At the same time? The way he lounges, the lowkey judgmental expressions, the way he sort of…stalks, as he moves. Has a charm about him that’s infallible, but he can also be incredibly cold and blunt. Fairly self serving but also protective, and does not like anyone considers ‘his people’ being messed with.

Habits, well. Could it be called a habit to say that he hates clothes, and routinely attempts to go around naked? A bad habit? Sometimes he really does genuinely forget, since clothes aren’t…really a thing, where he’s from. Also loves collecting bits and bobbles. Doodads and gizmos. There is virtually no rhyme or reason to what he likes, but if he likes it, it holds importance to him. Also has a bad habit of speaking without thinking, which is where that bluntness comes in. His kind is less emotive than mortals, so he can be unintentionally cruel, but if he cares enough about whoever it was he upset, he will genuinely try to make amends. He’s…learning.

Also has a habit of watching people sleep. Doesn’t need sleep himself, and there’s something…relaxing, about it. Keeping an eye on his people and knowing they’re resting peacefully. Puts him at ease.
