It was no luxury, but they got a place to sleep indoors. The next morning they woke up early, and started to prepare for the last part of their big journey - the walk to Manthos, where their uncle lived.
- Thank you so much cousin Dempse for your hospitality, and for lending us the mule. I wish to give you a small token as ...
- Absolutely not! You are family, and it was an honor. Send my best regards to my cousin. I hope he will enjoy the fresh fish!
- I hope our uncle is as kind and friendly as Mrs. Hadarah’s cousin.
- Of course he is, he is father’s brother, isn’t he? Anyway, we will find out tonight.
- Are you ready girls? Let’s walk as long as we can before the heat gets too intense.
In the afternoon the time had come to go separate ways.
- My sweeties! I wish you all the best on your continued journey and in life. The Manthos settlement is a couple of hours walk from here. You will recognize it by the huge castle, and then the rest of the village is just below. You should reach your uncle’s house by sunset.
- Mrs Hadarah, thank you a million for everything! Apart from our mother you are the kindest person in the world. I hope we will see you again before you return to your home country?
- I hope so too dearest. Traveling is a bit tiring now at my age, but you never know. Anything is possible! she smiled.
- These goodbyes are the saddest thing with traveling. You meet some extremely nice people, and then you may never see them again.
- I feel the same way, Noor said with a thick throat.
The rest of the trip was done in silence for the most part. Until they finally saw the castle.
- THAT. IS. JUST. INCREDIBLE. I have never, ever seen anything like it!
- Our friends wouldn’t believe it if we told them. It’s huuuuge!
- And so beautiful!
- Those who live there must be divine.
- For sure! That’s a palace for Gods!
