Also.... #DemsareDoing: #Repost @kirstengillibrand ・・・ Today, on #BlackWomensEqualPay Day, we recognize that as we fight for women’s rights, women of color face ever greater injustices, including an even larger wage gap. While women make $0.80 for every dollar a white, non-Hispanic man makes, black women make just $0.63. And in New York City, wage inequality for women of color is even worse. Black women make just $0.57 for every dollar paid to a white man. We can’t achieve true equality until every woman, no matter her race, gets equal pay for equal work. We win this fight by making sure everyone has a seat at the table. That means hiring more women of color to leadership positions. It means electing more women of color to high office. These are critical voices in our fight for equality, and we won’t get there without them.
