Lessons in etiquette

Even since before they properly knew each other, Lok knew that his (now) girlfriend was born into a noble family, as in "generational wealth, title, family properties, definitely some ties to monarchies and God knows what else" noble family. During the war with the Blood Spiral, she became the leader of the Casterwill family, so, aside from being of noble birth, she also had an official duty. 

He hadn't known how fast would that become very relevant.

When leaving school one afternoon - while being homeschooled was a necessity, they still had to pass exams and simply wanted to spend time with people their age - he doesn't expect to see one of the tables set with silver cutlery, porcelain dishes and different glassware. He definitely doesn't expect a few bottles of wine standing on the table.

"What's happening?" He asks LeBlanche, who in return takes out an envelope.

"There will be a joint Casterwill and Foundation gathering in three months", he answers, letting Sophie read the content of the letter. "Lady Sophie, as the head of the family, you, the Casterwill Champion and your team are expected to come and participate. It will be an official occasion to celebrate and discuss agreements between both parties. Both you and Lady Sophie will have play a crucial role in the negotiations, since you're representing both sides."

"I'm surprised it's not us that are organising the event", Sophie mutters, putting the letter away.

"The Council decided to organise it this time. While you're the family's leader, you're not yet of age and the Council agreed on waiting for you to take the mantle until your eighteenth birthday and graduation. After that, you will also be responsible for this part of duties."

"You will be organising fancy parties aside from leading? That's sick!" Den exclaims and jumps, which earns him a look of disapproval from LeBlanche.

"Indeed. This is why, starting from today, all of you will have regular etiquette class. I thought it would be appropriate to start with something using all of the senses, since you were all at school."

"We... can't drink," Lok, Harrison and Den stare blankly at the table.

"I wouldn't call that drinking," Sophie seems unbothered by the setting and takes a crystal glass in her hand. "Also, as you can see, LeBlanche is here to accompany us."

The blond teenager shakes his head.

"No, we can't drink, we're not adults!"

"Yes, we... Oh, I see," she slowly puts her hand down, "Let me explain... Even though we're not yet of age, LeBlanche can teach us about different types of alcohol. We can learn to differentiate them by smell, look and taste, how to pair them with different meals and such. I've only been reading about this, but if LeBlanche decided we're ready for this type of training, I have full faith in his judgement."

"Indeed. Since you're seventeen, you and Lok will participate in wine tasting with Dante and Zhalia, who should arrive in a few minutes. Den, Harrison, given that you're fifteen and in Zhalia's custody, it's up to her to allow you the participation."

"Okay...", the twins say in unison, unsure about the outcome, but the glint of excitement is in their eyes.

He then looks at everyone, a serious look on his face.

"What you are all going to learn in this class will be useful now and in your future. I expect you to fully commit to it and learn. Is that clear?"

"Yes, sir!"

And so they start their first joint class in etiquette and formal events.

Over 10 years after the first season, the world still wants more Huntik: Secrets & Seekers. The show has stood the test of time and a third season is just what we need at this current time!
