4. Favorite genre: I apparently love writing romance! I never expected it, since I grew up on scifi/fantasy and Cold War thrillers, but here I am, giving queer Happily Ever Afters to everyone.
19. Sequel I want to write: ACK. Sooo many. I think, though, it’s a toss-up between The Unlikely Summoner and Code Z. The problem is, if I stick close to canon, The Unlikely Summoner is going to some very dark places (poor Bucky!) and I’m not in a good mental place for writing that, and Code Z’s next installment is a complex espionage thriller (not a zombie apocalypse one, despite the implications!) that I just don’t have the bandwidth for.
45. What spurs me in writing? I love writing. Flat-out love it. And looking back in my life, when I write, I’m happy. I have no idea if it’s cause or effect, except that writing makes me happy, and when I’m happy, I write. The times when I’ve stopped writing have been the bleakest, most depressing lows I’ve ever experienced. Was it because I wasn’t writing or was my not-writing a sign of depression? No clue.
48. Favorite trope: Really, really unusual paranormal. Is that a trope? I’m talking a werewolf who’s scrawny and Deaf even after the bite because the bite doesn’t mystically cure everything. A demon who’s really not interested in doing evil because the only difference between angels and demons is politics. Steve Rogers getting turned into a golden retriever. Or, y’know, were-velociraptors, because why write werewolves when you can write feathered were-dinosaurs instead?
