I be forgetting i made a good bit of aus centering dende in some way and theyre so fun to think about even if im passed dbz rn. I had denhan au where they raise an alien egg that they find even after it hatches, a human dende au which...aint rlly all that different its just namekians but human LOL and then a au where i replaced popo with an oc i made who then forms a strong bond with dende 🫡 i should work more on these theyre fun and i need to spill my thoughts once more.

This song is so denhan coded. Like...hear me out.

This is like, Gohan asking Dende that, and Dende responding with the next line.

"Do you believe in fantasy?

I have to when it's right in front of me, oh"

"Fantasy" being Dende and having Dende right in front of him, yk?

Going back to when Goku brought Dende to earth. I think those lines represent what Gohan's thinking that when he's told Dende agreed to be guardian. He's like, kinda questioning it? Not in a negative way, more like he's just confused why Dende chose to be on earth, rather than his own planet.

"What are you doing here

So close I could touch you."

I see that as Gohan like, processing how nearby, yet far away he still is(cuz yk Dende's location is at the lookout and Gohan has his own stuff to worry about)

and what are you doing to me?!"

And that's Gohan after taking advantage of how close his friend is and spending more time with him, also realizing he might be feeling some kinda way towards him 🫣
