Dear tumblr scientists
Is it even possible for there to be poor quality electricity?
I need to charge my phone 2-3 times more often here in Denmark then I do home in Norway. One of my companions just got the message that he is plugged into something that doesn't give enough power, like if you plug a phone with USB3 into a USB2 port on a computer. An other travel companion also have to charge his phone twice as often.
So is this electricity thing a real issue? Or do our phones use more power because they're on a foreign network? I can't find the logic in that either, because we don't have this issue in Sweden.
Well, at least I’m writing.

The 50SS Eurovision Reviews Semifinal 2 13: DENMARK - Lighthouse X; “Soldiers of Love”
Two years ago, the Eurovision fans of the world packed into a refurbished warehouse in Copenhagen to watch Conchita Wurst of Austria take home the gold crown. Surely, Denmark was glad to have finally hosted a successful song contest, even if there were a few kinks.
Flash forward two years later, and the country’s fielding the trio Lighthouse X to travel across the river into Sweden with “Soldiers of Love.” Again I gasp for air, attempting to say something good about this, but it’s a struggle.
This song is comparable to Ireland’s “Sunlight,” not just because it has that boy-band pop flavor to it, but because it is so cheery and inoffensive! Reading the lyrics is just like ... random inspirational statement, another inspirational statement, and don’t be afraid, we can do it, blah-de-blah-de-blah, soldiers of love. For life? In most of the song it doesn’t even matter if the lines match up: “ Unbreakable - don’t let it go - It’s an open road, time to let it show - Invincible, gonna climb the wall.” Hey guys! Stop covering up that road with that blanket!
Credit goes to the guys themselves, who have decent looks and voices. I’m having trouble finding any live version that isn’t an ‘acoustic’ version, so it’s virtually up to the performance in Stockholm to prove us whether or not they’re vocally up to par. The one guy with the blond hair is a very strong tenor and probably has the best voice of the three, but he has to go into falsetto during the chorus, and he was a bit flat at times.
So I guess the biggest issue I have with this song is that it does nearly nothing to break itself from the rest of the pack. It will struggle to make the Final because Ireland and Lithuania are essentially fighting for that same sound through their votes. It doesn’t help that I’m not hearing any of these three songs be talked about outside the ESC bubble, either.
What do you guys think? Am I being too critical? There’s more interesting stuff in this semifinal, and when people go around saying that the 2nd Semifinal is the weaker of the two this year, I tend to think that this song can explain why.
Also, Lighthouse X is a weird name for a band.
