I miss rhack fics :( in bloom is over, I feel like not many get posted these days and that one high school fic (idk remember the name) that I saw you sharing is gone :'( the rhack fandom is dead

Well then *rolls up her sleeves* I guess it’s time for me to kick depressions ass and start writing again, huh? I miss rhack fics as well, trust me. But there are actually still a lot of great writers on here posting work. Even if they’re just one shots! They may not always post them on Ao3 if that’s where you’re looking. Plus, a lot of them take prompts, so if you’re hungry for something specific, they may be able to hook it up. I am also going to start taking prompts again!

Also, I should be posting the very last chapter of In Bloom soon and I have it on personal knowledge that that amazing high school AU will be making it’s come back veerrrryy soon, with new chapters. I’m starting to feel better, so hopefully I will continue on with When Love Fails as well. I was so goddamn excited for that fic, sigh.

The rhack fandom shall never die!

41. Aoba and Clear.

ghost/living person au... Oh screw you, Iggy.

“Aoba-san...” Clear sighed.

He loomed over the blue-haired man and watched on sadly as his lover continued working. Gloved hands were moving without pause, shaking without any sign of stopping, and working just as frantically as they did on day one. Aoba hovered over what was left of Clear’s body as if he would be snatched away once again.

“Aoba-san... Please...” Clear said into Aoba’s ear.

Why did he still bother? He knew Aoba couldn’t hear him.

“Aoba-san, you need to rest. It’s late. You... You can work on it tomorrow, just please, go get some sleep.”

Once again, Clear went unheard. Aoba’s eyes darted about until he found the right screwdriver. He fumbled about with it in his hands until he finally brought it up to the robot’s head.

Clear’s stomach twisted up in knots when his gaze fell upon his own face. The face was still smiling vacantly up toward the ceiling. The entire left side of it was stripped free of its skin, leaving the mechanisms exposed.

Clear noticed that the damage was looking worse with every passing day that Aoba worked on it.

Aoba’s hand slipped. The screwdriver was wedged between gears and sparks flew out. He cried out and hastily yanked the screwdriver out. His shoulders slumped in defeat once he  saw the smoke drifting out of the robot once again.

“Why...?” Aoba asked. “Why can’t I...?”

The blue-haired man sunk his face into his hands. Clear bent down to his side when he heard the sobs begin. Clear wanted to, no, needed to give him a hug. But he couldn’t.

“It’s okay, Aoba-san... I’m right here. Please don’t cry.”

Clear took a breathe and started singing. Whether to cheer up Aoba or to muffle the sound of the crying, he wasn’t sure.

It could have been his imagination, but Aoba’s sobbing quieted just a bit.
