So we remember the Blue Skull’s leader wiped out all of Mavis’ fake army right in front of the eyes of all our heroes. That pushed them deep into the forest feeling defeated. That’s until they met a black wizard who “taught” them magic. A long time coming I’d say because they picked up on it pretty quickly. Once they learned their own particular type of magic, they were well on their way to mastering it. They all practiced really hard it came to a point to where they were ready to fight!
After all that practice, they were finally ready to fight! However, what are they fighting for? They all gather around to answer that question.
Being Zera’s original idea I suppose, everyone agrees that the very first priority is to rid the town’s people of the awful oppressive guild. Although I think everyone had the same idea…everyone except Yuri…
He is still focused on getting that Tenrou Orb which in his defense, was the original mission. However, all that went out the window. Warrod and Precht both agree that this wizard guild needs to be dealt with. They now have magical powers so they need to do something. According to Warrod, the three have seen many towns just like this and chose to do nothing. Now they have the opportunity to actually help. However, it’s not so bad. Mavis has a plan. The Blue Skull’s leader is much too powerful to fight head on. They may have shear strength on their side but as Yuri pointed out, they are still amateurs. Luckily for them they have Mavis who is one of the smartest beings I ever met in Fairy Tail. Tbh, she is one of the smartest in anime. She rivals Vegeta and Piccolo in strategy.
So as they hit the town, it’s time they put together the first part of their plan. They need to gather a few people. They go to the one shop they know best. The bakery.
Okay so the plan is to get the loudest person in town to stir up a commotion and start a rebellion. I’m going to just tell you the entire plan now because for some reason they just have the plan kinda unfold as they are executing it but it was kinda difficult to see exactly what they were doing until it was actually done.
So they do inform us that The Blue Skull leader goes hunting in the Northern part of the forest so in the town will only be the peons. That’s pretty much all they tell you about the plan other than the fact that they can’t win heads up. Snippets here and their aide the plan as well but basically they want the Blue Skull’s leader separated from the city. While he’s being preoccupied outside the city Yuri and Precht will take back over the city starting with the cathedral. That’s where the towns people come in. They will serve as the detraction to the front gate of the cathedral as Yuri and Precht get in from the back for a surprise attack. First they need to find a loud citizen to stir things up and I think they found one…
Definitely loud and definitely angry the blacksmith tells the gang…
This is actually true to a lot of us when we feel powerless. Blame is often passed around. However, this time the blacksmith is ready to fight. His job is to now start an uprising…
He was the perfect person for this job. It worked with flying colors. Better than I actually thought as well. Seriously I didn’t think this town was that much against the wall until I’ve seen how easily they were willing to fight back.
It looks small but just wait…
…as you can see, their mob kept getting bigger and bigger. Everyone was angry and excited too! It took the guild by surprise…
Now it’s time for our Fairy Tail heroes to act but first just like Zera, I just wanna say…
Me and Zera think alike lol
Now that the first part is done, now it’s time to declare war!
When I say declare war I mean it! The Blue Skull’s leader sees the gigantic fire and rushes to the city!
It was devastating to look upon but what he saw next was even worse…
Super savage! She is not playing around as she declares she will ruin any and everything this man cares about. It seems like the black wizard Mavis is set on revenge and everyone who is in the way will pay as well…
Of course anyone who’s seen any episode of Fairy Tail Zero know that Mavis isn’t capable of burning people alive. Especially innocent people. So I know we weren’t worried. However, the Blue Skull wizard saw through it too but it wasn’t because he has a Funimation account but because he remembers what her power is and sees through this farce…
However, what he didn’t expect is how powerful these five have truly become and even worse he wasn’t expecting the trap that was set just for him…
After being outsmarted and trapped the only thing the Blue Skull wizard could say is…
As the Blue Skull leader was trapped in a cage it was time for the next part of the plan. Total takeover of the cathedral. Time for Yuri and Precht to show us what they are made of…
…and they totally do too lol.
Precht wasn’t playing around either! He’s about business…plus it looks as if the blade dance is still playing it’s own music…
The fight wore them out but it was still pretty easy as the two bum rushes their way into the center of the cathedral defeating all that came their way.
They finally achieved their goal they worked so hard for. They finally got the end game…
It’s finally in arms reach but hold up…
This sends Mavis and Zera off running to save their friends. What possible danger could they be in? They reach the actual cathedral in the city of Magnolia and Mavis is on it! She asks where the orb is but it’s too late. Yuri has already gotten it in his hands. Unfortunately for him, he doesn’t know the dangers of it. He thinks Mavis is just trying to trick him out of the orb.
However, we all are about to get a brief history lesson…Mavis please continue…lol
Whoops. It looks like it’s a little too late. Now the orb is reacting to Yuri…
What happens next is anything short of amazing! Yuri actually possesses the blue dragon that sits on top the cathedral!
So basically once a human touches the orb that person becomes that blue eyes white dragon…whoops wrong anime lol. Seriously though that thing is possessing Yuri…and Yuri is destroying this city they tried so hard to save. Mavis of course tries to save Yuri by talking to him. All in all I understand because her personality could make me stop in my tracks. Then again, I’m not a voracious monster…and apparently Yuri is because he’s not listening to a word she is saying.
Thank God for Precht because Mavis was on top the roof of the cathedral…well what was the roof.
Awe they look so cute lol
Well while Precht saves the day, Yuri is destroying it and Warrod is still watching over the leader of the guild. Zera is standing by. There’s not much she or anyone else can do. That’s why Precht says…
Of course Mavis refuses to give up…
That’s the most serious look I’ve seen her have to date! I think she has it in her. However, she has never went up against something like this.
THE GOOD – Not only do they master their very own magic they all decide to use it for good. Even Yuri came around and fought all out. The best thing about this episode is at the end referencing friendship. Now to be honest, it was a lame line but it was most necessary. The premise of Fairy Tail is friendship from episode one and it was really cool to see how this “guild” started their principles. It all comes together when you think about it. Friendship is the backbone of the Fairy Tail guild and now we see why. That was perfect. The fight scenes were good, not great, but good and was a relief to see good fights in multiple episodes. Another good thing about this show is you can see the leadership role form in Mavis as they showcase her brilliance and power! It was truly a warm feeling to see these people fresh off of magical learning to see them use it for the sake of others. I could think of a few things I would want to do first but I would have joined them in a heart beat to save the towns people. Also using the towns people to fight back was brilliant too because without them being willing participants the town would never be truly free. This was a good episode to watch simply because it lets you in on the roles of our heroes.
THE BAD – Zera still has such a small role. I mean I would imagine she was training just as hard yet she didn’t do shit. She definitely need to showcase her strength and power so we can see where she lands in all of this. I understand it was originally her idea that they save the towns people but come on, it’s like what Mavis said, they all were thinking it. Her having such a small role makes any episode automatically not a 5.
THE UGLY – All in all this episode still merits a 3.5 out of 5. This is the lowest rating I’ve given this series so far. Having Zera doing nothing was a horrible idea. She definitely needs to be more involved. I like her personality. She has such a kind heart trapped within pride and shyness. There’s so much you can do with that. Also having this blue dragon possess Yuri was stupid. Just for the simple fact that the evilness of the orb is supposed to take over whoever touches it and all of a sudden he’s a blue dragon? What if the orb was somewhere else and that dragon wasn’t there? Would that person be possess by something else? I don’t recall seeing a blue dragon on Tenrou Island. It was a plot whole that was easily called out. Pretty sloppy. If he would have physically transformed himself it would have been different but to be possessed by something that just happened to be there was really lame.
