After all the kdramas that have disappointed me by using silly tropes and making things needlessly complicated and troublesome for our OTP in the end, we have one, one savior, one drama that did the exact opposite, using the tropes to bring my OTP closer and closer and closer - Her Private Life. My heart. I can never recover.
[ K - DRAMA ] Ryan Gold & Deok Mi in “Her Private Life!”

As much as some people want more intimate scenes from them, I think so far they have been portraying how real dating life is for new couple (i mean they just started not long ago..) A relationship is more than those intimate scenes.
Slowly knowing each other, becoming comfortable to reveal one’s deepest secrets and to allow one be vulnerable in front of your loved ones. And more importantly, not hiding anything that could potentially end the relationship if you really cherish your loved ones, which means to talk it out. A mature relationship with all these factors are what the show has been trying to portray, with bits of cute and sweet moments here and there.
I like the pace they are going so far and I can say it’s more realistic (as compared to dramas with a lot of misunderstanding between the couple, overly intimate scenes at the very start (like if a couple barely knows each other and they start to...?))
Basically what i’m saying is the chemistry between KJW and PMY feels so natural and even more authentic with such a mature and realistic plot. Whether they have really good acting and able to put themselves into the characters or it’s just their natural self, oh well we shall see
Mentoring Kim Hyo Jin
Everyone has been a great mentor to Kim Hyo Jin. It isn't just Deok Mi but also Ryan Gold, Curator Yu and Kim Yoo Seob.
• Deok Mi and her mother teaches Hyo Jin, by example, how one should treat another; especially when one feels grateful for something. Rather than paying people off, simple words with sincerity like "thank you" and "Sorry" speaks more volumes than cash.
• Curator Yu encourages her to improve by first telling her she did a great job but there are some improvements to be made. As an intern, everything feels new and having a mentor to say "hey! Great job! But here are a few tips on how to do better" goes a really long way. (I speak from experience and was blessed to have a really kind and patient mentor as well).
• Kim Yoo Seob checks on Hyo Jin to ask about whether she knows how to get back home by public transport. This is really heartwarming and caring, to be honest.
• Ryan Gold (and Deok Mi) gave Hyo Jin a task that she would be good at. This is of utmost importance, especially for someone who has never been told she's good at anything apart from fangirling. This allowed Hyo Jin to explore her strengths and interests as a working adult. And like how Ryan Gold complimented Yoo Seob for finding the art piece, the compliments for Hyo Jin on her ideas became a motivation for her; sometimes employees just need acknowledgment of their hard work, ideas and efforts.
I really loved how everyone gave Hyo Jin a chance and how this allowed every character demonstrate what a healthy working place looks like. I was very blessed to intern at a place that's as good but I've heard many horror stories of interning at companies that are toxic for both interns and full-time employees.
Ryan Gold knows what he's working with
One of my favourite scenes is when Deok Mi tells him a fangirl/fanboy admires their idol from a distance and he's all ok let's try that but three seconds in he's like you know what this situation needs? Undoing my shirt button by button while continuing to look deeply into your eyes...like homeboy's not technically breaking the fan rule but they both know he's just too hot for no touchy (especially if he keeps that shit up)
