Okay I need to talk a lot about a theory I have after the 3.1 story
Spoilers below, of course
After both watching the movie and reading the book, there is one part at the end that both do slightly differently but I think would be so much better if combined.
In the movie, when Stratt makes Grace go on the mission, she does it in a room full of people and when he refuses there's a chase scene where Grace ends up with his iconic tackle and face in the grass scene. This scene is great because it really emphasises that struggle, giving way to many of those fox being chased by dogs metaphors the fandom has latched onto. When I saw that scene it felt real, being afraid of your own death and trying to escape in any way possible, but being unable to escape the fate that everyone else decided for you.
In the book, this scene happens in Stratt's office with a single guard. Grace is barely able to resist and the guard simply drags him off to his cell to wait for launch day. On one hand it makes sense to keep quiet about forcing Grace to go on the mission, but it misses out on a lot of that emotion. Even having him try to struggle against the guard would've been great to see for someone so desperate to not go on this suicide mission.
However, what the book does best is the reveal of how the memory loss works. When watching the movie my conclusion was just that the confusion was part of the coma side-effects and that was it. But the moment I read that Stratt intentionally has the ship inject him with a drug to induce partial memory loss in him so Grace knows enough to finish the mission, but by the time he's too into it to stop he learns the truth, my jaw dropped. That is some next level evil, but so so smart thinking (Stratt I love you so much you did what you had to).
Now it is entirely possible I could've missed this being hinted at in the movie (I desperately am dying to watch it again) but even so if it is able to be missed then it looses that gut-punch factor and should be more pronounced. If the chase struggle and memory loss drug were both present in either the book or movie, I think it would be the cherry on top of everything.
I was thinking about how if Erid's atmosphere is mostly ammonia then could plants on Erid uptake it from the air instead of relying on N2 nitrogen fixation from microorganisms? There are studies saying that plants can use atmospheric ammonia, although it does cause leaf damage. But, I think their plants would've evolved to overcome that damage.
Then I remembered the reason Rocky has no sight is because the atmosphere is so thick no light reaches the surface. No plants on Erid. Sad.
But maybe fungi.
Really been thinking about this frame a lot once I noticed that his eye does that. WHY DOES IT DO THAT? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??
Also same eye as aero Rover teehee (not terminally insane about them)
The only other instance I can find of this is from the livestream trailer with this shot, of which I'm assuming may be from the next story unless this happened in the current one (but I think I'd remember a glitchy scary-eyed Luuk)
His eyes have a slight glow to them during his burst animation, but not with this x. Is it when he's locked onto a target? If that was so, then why doesn't it show when he's throwing the knife in the trailer?
I'm sure we'll fine out either through the story or his character information, but I want to theorise and figure it out now
While I'm doing very serious and import work, I'm realizing there are NO 4* Spectro characters in the game. They should release a 4* that can apply spectro frazzle so Zani isn't so team locked.
I nominate Avidius/The Shaper for this role
Because it's my OC I've thought of how Deoxy could possibly have interacted with Avidius (before big story quest because I can not fit them in there) and with Avidius on the mind I may be whipping up something big.
Do NOT listen to the Project Hail Mary soundtrack while looking at your experiments in a lab, it will make you think you're on a spaceship trying to save the world
I think what really excites me about the next WuWa story is that it will begin to answer a few questions about tacet marks and attributes and how exactly they work in this world.
Because we get to meet our first (playable reasonator) sibling, Yangyang's sister Suisui, this gives us a bit of insight into how any kind of genetics may play into resonators. Them having the same tacet mark placement is very interesting, and I'm curious to see how their attributes correlate with Yangyang being aero/havoc, while Suisui is glacio. Could placement be genetic while attribute is based on external factors? Also, are there any genetic factors that cause some people to be more likely to become resonators and that's why both siblings are?
And speaking of attributes, it is going to be so interesting to see how Yangyang is able to switch from aero to havoc. So far Rover is the only reasonator to switch attributes, so what is going to allow Yangyang to switch? Does this mean that all resonators have the potential to switch attributes, or is there something special about Yangyang like there is with Rover?
Also, from an interface standpoint, are people going to have two Yangyang characters on their account or will you be able to switch between them like we can with Rover? I'm assuming the later, as it would make more sense with team building (can't put both Yangyang's on your team) and for energy-based teams, such as tower of adversity (using 5 energy from 5* Yangyang must also take 5 energy from 4* Yangyang).
