Yo whattup, I recognize that it has been a while since I have done a substantial post. January and February were very stressful because my student loans money ran out (poor planning on my part, lbr), so I had to borrow money to make it through ALA Midwinter Meeting.
Luckily, mid-February the spring semester tuition refund check came in, so disaster averted! More details below the cut because this is gonna be long.
Things done:
Paid back friend who I borrowed living-through-February money from.
Paid off all credit cards and lines of credit because fuck it, I’d rather just have one debt to deal with, and I will gladly pay sliiiightly more interest (I had a balance transfer card that I was slowly paying off) to be less anxious.
Investment Assets
IRA: $7751.00
Swell Investing: $645.00
Stash Invest: $144.00
Other Assets
Furniture: $200 bed :D
Short-term Liabilities
Credit Card: $68.80 (to be paid off on an ongoing basis)
Long-term Liabilities
Student loans: $43270.88 (2 separate loans and due to double before the end of school, sigh)
Net Worth: -$25,451.89
Despite the superduper negative net worth I am feeling generally positive about financial life stuff. I have applied to two entry-level library jobs already and I’m about to submit two more applications (once I get the cover letters for them looked over this weekend), so I think I have things mostly under control.
HEALTH AND LIFE UPDATE
Still doing a bajillion tests slowly through my primary care doctor that the Lyme Literate Doctor requested, so we’ll see if anything comes out of that. Until then, it’s just shrug emoji.
I have been alternating between feeling WAY better and feeling very very fatigued. I slept for most of this past Wednesday and then felt much better on Thursday.
Starting to deal with my grief over my grandparents’ deaths in therapy (3 years after the fact, but w/e, at least I am starting to talk about it. Progress is progress). Therapy is Thursdays as are two of my classes, so Thursday is a loooooooong day.
I made a lot of really great connections at ALA Midwinter so... uh... stay tuned for when I have cool announcements?
This weekend is the student-run DERAIL Forum at Simmons College and I am presenting on De-escalation and I am SUPER NERVOUS but also excited.
