If there was ever a time to fall through the bounds of time and space into another era, it was never. But of course, Douxie had to be messing around with the time map. It had looked like it was broken, and he was trying to fix it, okay?! He hadn’t planned on dropping in to.. wait. Where was this? And.. when?
“Hey.. Arch?”
“No, I don’t know where we are either, and certainly not when. This one’s on you.”
“Thanks, Arch. Real encouraging.”
“I’m sorry, but you’ve been told before not to play with time, and that also means the time map.” Archie shook his head, stretching a moment before he leapt onto the ‘teen’ wizard’s shoulders. “We just have to lay low, and not bring any attention to ourselves while we work on getting back home.”
“Right, lay low, don’t mess up the past.”
“Or future.” A nod, and Douxie was soon pushing his way through bushes and other overgrown foliage to see if he at least could find- A thunk in a nearby tree, as something had abruptly come flying at his head, and Douxie nearly fell over in shock and terror. A moment of stunned silence and then- Wait, was that an axe now embedded in that tree?!
“Archie??”
“Run, Douxie! Go!” He didn’t need to be told twice. Quickly turning on his heel, the boy wizard was sprinting through the woods now, terrified for his life and hoping against hope that whoever had thrown that axe wouldn’t follow him, or at least wouldn’t catch up to- Oof! Slamming rather hard and rather solidly into someone, he fell back, hitting the ground. His head struck briefly against a rock, drawing blood, but not hard enough to knock him out, just... Slowly, he looked up at who he’d crashed into, and..
“Oh.. Fuzzbuckets..” Whoever this stranger was, he seemed just as dangerous, if not more so, as having an axe thrown at him.
