The snow on the mountains looked like something out of a postcard. It was glittering powder, tall pines dusted white, and sunlight so bright it made the whole world glow. Derek had surprised me with a trip, dropping the brochure on my lap with that proud little smirk he only wore when he knew he’d outdone himself.
“You deserve a real vacation, baby.” He said, pulling me into his arms.
“Just you, me, and no serial killers.”
Now we were standing at the top of the ski slope, breath puffing in the frosty air, bundled up in our ridiculous matching winter gear. His idea. He claimed it made us look cute. I claimed he just wanted to show off.
He nudged my goggles gently. “You ready?”
“As long as you don’t leave me in the snow.” I teased.
Derek grinned. “Never.”
We pushed off together, flying down the slope. The wind whipped against my face, snow spraying around us, laughter echoing in the open air. Derek stayed just ahead of me, glancing back every few seconds to make sure I was still there. I was doing pretty well for someone who hadn’t been skiing since high school…
Until the world shifted.
It happened in one terrible, thunderous instant. A deep cracking sound groaned through the mountain. The snow under my skis trembled. Someone screamed behind me. Then the slope collapsed.
Avalanche…
A wave of white roared downward, fast and unstoppable. I didn’t even have time to yell. The ground disappeared, and I went tumbling, cold slamming into me like fists. Everything became white noise and white snow. For a moment, maybe a minute, maybe ten, there was nothing… Just pressure. Cold. Darkness.
Derek’s voice saved me before his hands did. It came through the snow, muffled but desperate.
“Y/N! Y/N! Baby, where are you? Answer me!”
I tried to move, but the snow held me like cement. My chest tightened from fear or cold or both.
“Derek…” My voice came out weaker than I wanted.
Suddenly, his digging sounded closer. Faster. Then light broke through. A gloved hand reached in, shaking slightly.
“I got you, sweetheart… I got you.” Derek breathed, voice thick with panic and relief mixed together.
He hauled me out and into his arms like I weighed nothing. My body trembled from the cold, my clothes were soaked, and my fingers were stiff. Derek stripped off his own jacket and wrapped it around me, pressing me against his chest to shield me from the wind. His heartbeat was frantic.
“You okay? Can you hear me? Talk to me, baby.”
“I’m okay…” I whispered, even though I wasn’t entirely sure. “Just… cold.”
He cupped my face, his forehead pressing to mine. “Scared the hell out of me.”
Even through the cold, I could feel the warmth of him, his jacket, his hands, and his breath trembling against my cheek. He pulled me up with him and half-carried, half-walked me toward the lodge.
He didn’t waste a second when we got back to the cabin. Coat off. Boots off. Gloves off. Every soaked layer peeled away and was replaced with soft blankets, and the heat of the fireplace roared to life. Derek practically tucked me into him on the sofa, surrounding me with warm blankets and warmer arms. I was shivering uncontrollably, teeth chattering. Derek curled around me from behind, rubbing my arms, my back, my legs, anywhere he could safely touch.
“C’mon, sweetheart… Stay with me. You’re okay… You’re safe.” His voice softened as he pressed a kiss to the side of my head.
“I’m right here.”
Gradually, the shaking eased. My breath stopped fogging. My fingers finally felt like they belonged to my body again. I leaned into his chest, letting the steady beat of his heart ground me.
“Thank you for finding me.” I whispered.
His arms tightened. “There’s no world where I don’t find you.”
I tilted my head back to look at him. His eyes were still glossy; the fear hadn’t left yet.
“You really scared me…” He admitted quietly, thumb brushing my cheek.
“I… I can’t lose you. Not to some damn snow, not to anything.”
I covered his hand with my still-cold one. “You didn’t lose me.”
He exhaled shakily, pulling me closer until our foreheads touched.
“I love you.” He murmured. “More than anything.”
My body warmed, and I smiled. “I love you too.”
He kissed me, slow, relieved, and lingering, before settling me deeper into his lap, his arms wrapped around me like he didn’t plan on letting go for the rest of the winter.

“But yes I would love to go on a date though I think it’s safe to say I’m pretty smitten with you don’t you think? I don’t exactly let anyone knock me up.” You chuckled before reaching over your shoulder and placing a kiss on his cheek.
“Yes well ditto.” Derek grumbled shyly before you both finally let sleep take you.
You slipped out of bed with a smile as you looked over at Derek who was still passed out after your brunch sexy time. You thought you would’ve been doubting yourself for allowing Derek to knot you, let alone even screw you without a condom, it was reckless and so irresponsible but instead you felt content like everything made sense.
You weren’t sure whether it was Derek or the fact that you might’ve made a child but you felt lighter than you had in years. However, you were still sticky so a shower was definitely on the cards. You began walking through the open space but you suddenly overheard the pack enter downstairs and you realised it was 7pm on Friday which meant pack night.
Shit.
You ran back to Dereks bed and slapped him against the bare chest shocking him so much he actually growled at you until he realised it was you. You pulled on your earlobe telling him to listen and his eyes widened immediately, shooting out of bed as he began routing through his draws to grabs jeans and a henley before slipping into them.
You shook your head at his lack of underwear as you ran over to your separate room taking Derek’s sheet with you as you went. You grabbed a paired of black high waist leggings, a red crop top and a pair of thongs. You grabbed your feminine wipes and started wiping any dried cum off of you so it wouldn’t be as noticeable to the other wolves.
You put on the clothes and took a deep breathe, readying yourself incase there was questions. You were usually so confident but for some reason you were worried what the pack would think. God how were you going tell the pack if you did get pregnant? You shook your head and started down the stairs, knowing Derek had gone down already.
You spot the whole pack rumbling through take away containers and realised they must’ve picked food up on the way so you put on a big smile and grabbed a plate. Liam noticed you first and gave you a big smile in return, suddenly he started sniffing the air and you tried not to look guilty because there’s no way a puppy wouldn’t be able to figure out where the smell was coming from with the whole pack in the house, right?
“Why do you smell like sex?” Liam asked stopping the whole pack in their spots as every wolf sniffed of air their eyes widening, while Derek suddenly looked a little too proud and Scott started laughing.
“I told her and Derek to fuck it out… ‘guess they took my advice.” Scott smirked like he’d won a medal.
You shot him a glare before serving yourself food and walking to the dining table without a word. Lydia sat next to you with Stiles following, who sat on the other side and you almost ran then and there. The brainy couple…you were doomed and you knew it.
“So... Derek?” Lydia started and Stiles hummed in thought, thinking about the question he wanted to ask but there were so many he had on his mind he decided to leave the questioning to his girlfriend.
“Interesting development, if you ask me.” Stiles added casually instead, causing you to look at Derek for help but he just looked amused.
“Oh you think this is funny, sweetheart?” You asked Derek, your tone sickly sweet, wiping the smirk from his face.
“You know what I think, Derek here would be to happy answer all your questions. Right, Der?” You asked, feigned innocence dripping from your words.
“I’m taking her out tomorrow that’s all you guy need to know.” Derek grumbled before everyone exploded as you shot him a smirk that let him know you’d won.
The pack continued their questioning throughout dinner - even the sheriff had asked one, which had made you laugh because he had asked ‘where will Derek be taking you?’ and Derek went redder than tomato as he clearly hadn’t thought of that yet. You saved him from the unexpected question by saying you wouldn’t mind trying the new Italian place downtown and he sent you an affectionate smile that somehow made everyone stop questioning the pair of you.
You poured yourself and Melissa a glass of red wine before you made your way to the living room. You were about to sit down with you glass when it was taken straight out your hand by Derek who shot you a raised brow and you scoffed at him making Melissa laugh.
“You’re brave going between her and wine.” Chris snorted as Melissa nodded against his shoulder trying to contain her laugh.
Derek raised both brow daring you to argue with him but you just stared him down like the enemy. You looked at the glass weighing your chances at getting your hands on it and not spilling at least half, but you just sighed angrily.
“Get me a juice.” You snapped viciously and Derek nodded before walking back to the kitchen.
“What the fuck just happened…” Stiles muttered in confusion.
“Language, but yeah what my idiot son said.” The sheriff scolded but looked at you confused, with a raised brow.
“I think it’s best we come some aspects of our relationship a secret.” You answered respectfully making the sheriff nod in acceptance, but Stiles just gaped at you, his mind racing a mile a minute.
“Is it a kinky thing?” Stiles gasped, as if the revelation of Derek doing anything kinky was the most hilarious concept to him and you almost keeled over laughing.
“No, but that made my day.” You wheezed as you tried to calm your breathing through the laughter.
“Excuse you.” Derek growled as he came into the room with your juice.
“Shut up, wine stealer.” You snarled as you took your juice resentfully.
Derek rolled his eyes but sat down next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders before pressing a gentle kiss to your temple making you instantly relaxed against him. Despite the pout on your face, you cuddled into him causing Lydia to chuckle at the sight from across the room.
******
You eventually drifted into your own thoughts as everyone chatted the night away. You must’ve fallen asleep at some point because the next thing knew you woke up to Derek carrying you upstairs. You stared up at him with a sleepy smile on your face and he looked down at you returning it with the brightest smile you’d seen all night.
He laid you on his bed and you raised a brow at him but didn’t move to get up as he stripped his top and jean leaving him naked but as he started to slide on a pair of boxers you let your pout show. He looked up innocently, like he didn’t know the effect he had on you, only to see your pout making him smirk.
“You can’t still want more, baby?” He chuckled as he remembered the second and third time you went after the first time.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of you.” You purred as you ripped your top off over your head letting him take in your lack of bra. You crooked your index finger in a come hither way and he was on you, his fingers finding the waistband of your leggings before pulling them down off your body leaving you in your dusky pink thong.
“You’re so beautiful.” Derek whispered against your lips and your eyes widened in shock. You had only ever really done one-night stands so you were never used to being called beautiful. Drunken men weren’t exactly there for the intimacy they were here for one thing only, your body.
“Did I say something wrong?” Derek asked softly and you looked up at him with a frown wondering why he was asking, but then you realised he must’ve sensed your change in mood.
“No. Not at all…no one’s ever called me beautiful in the bedroom just shocked me, Der, that’s all.” You answered softly and his frown was back as he pressed a kiss to your forehead before kissing down your temple to your cheek lovingly.
“Well you are…so beautiful.” Derek whispered into your ear sending a shiver straight down your spine as you clutched the bedding.
His lips left little kisses over every inch of skin from your cheek to your nipples, taking the left one in his mouth, sucking softly making you gently bite your lower lip as you watched him switch to your other nipple to pay it the same attention.
“Don’t get comfortable, baby. I’m about to show you how beautiful you are.” Derek whispered darkly; his voice full of filthy promises.
He wrapped your legs around his waist before picking you up using your ass to support you. He walked to the bathroom across the loft and you gave him a sceptic look but he just shot you a dirty smirk that made your heart race in anticipation.
He stopped in front of the bathroom mirror, signalling for you to get down so you jumped down and looked around the room with a shrug. He spun you around, pulling your bare back against his just as bare chest, one hand on you hip as the other grabbed your cheeks forcing you took look at him through the mirror.
“Watch close.” Derek whispered in your ear his wolf eyes flashing in dimly lit bathroom. You flushed under his gaze feeling a little embarrassed but you nodded gently letting him know you heard him.
Every nerve in your body felt like it was buzzing in anticipation, waiting for his next move but when his hand slowly slid from you cheeks to your throat your eyes flashed as you leaned into his touch. The hand on your hip suddenly tore your underwear straight off your body making you gasp in shock as Derek just gave you a sadistic smirk in return.
His hand slid between your legs, his finger immediately delving into your wet folds making you whimper against him, shamelessly grinding into his fingers. You felt Derek’s chest rumble in satisfaction against your back as teased you massaging your clit at an agonisingly slow pace.
“Look.” Derek growled as his eyes flashed in warning and you finally looked at yourself in the mirror.
Your face was flushed, glowing under the low lighting, your hair was half sticking to your face but the thing you noticed the most, was your expression. You looked so…beautiful…in pure trust and ecstasy in this moment with this man and you smiled at him.
“I only look like this because its you…because I trust you…even enough to take control of me in my most vulnerable position.” You whispered into the quiet room and his expression changed to something you’d never seen on him but you decided it was your favourite look.
“Make love to me.” You knew it wasn’t a question and that didn’t seem to bother Derek because he picked you up like a princess and took you back to his bed.
He laid you down on the bed carefully, pushing his lips onto yours passionately, as he brushed your hair out of your face affectionately while he took himself out of his boxer briefs. You slipped your tongue into his mouth, exploring every inch of him as you went; He tasted like the whiskey he drank earlier, making you smile into the kiss.
He brushed his tip through your wet folds, making you moan against his lips as you clutched onto his biceps in a plea that you needed him, and he clearly heard it because he slowly pushed into you, earning one drawn-out desperate moan as you clung to him like a koala bear. Everything felt more intense, and maybe it was because you were sure this was the first person to ever make love to you, or perhaps it was just Derek. Still, you looked into his eyes as he took one of your hands, intertwining it with his while he started thrusting into you slowly but deeply.
He looked at you with the same look from earlier and you cupped the back of his neck as he nudged against your special spot with every deep thrust and you felt yourself building faster than normal but he nodded letting you know he was close too. Your eyes were blurred with pure pleasure as his hand came down to massage your clit.
“Ahh…Der, m’close.” You moaned softly as you hid your head in his neck, and he pulled back to look into your eyes once more.
His thrusts got a little harder as he got closer to his end, his fingers never stopped moving gently and you couldn’t hold it anymore, the coil in your stomach unravelling as you looked into Derek’s blue wolf eyes through your hooded lids. Your legs wouldn’t stop shaking as Derek came with you, emptying himself inside of you once again.
“F-Fuck…” You whispered as you went lifeless against the bed, Derek resting on top of you but not putting his full weight on you, which you found endearing.
“Maybe I should get that diamond ring after all.” Derek chuckled and you let out a breathless laugh pulling him down for a kiss.
********
It had been about a month or so since you and Derek had started dating while making a baby… A weird concept, you were both aware, which is why no one from the pack is any the wiser. Obviously, you were well aware that you’d have to tell them soon, but for right now you guys didn’t want to deal with judgmental looks from your pack.
You were currently a week late but you couldn’t be sure if that was the stress of wanting to know or if it was, in fact, pregnancy so you bought tests… A lot of them. Derek looked at you like you were crazy when you dumped all 25 packets of different brands on his lap.
“I really don’t think this many is necessary.” Derek stated as you dipped one at a time into the cup of pee, specifically the morning pee you had been holding since you woke up at 7am this morning. The internet said it was better to take it with your first pee of the day something about HCG hormones or something... You didn’t understand most of it.
“And I really don’t think you should be judging me right now since I might be carrying your wolf spawn.” You sassed, making him roll his eyes but dutifully pass you another test to dip in the pee.
“Okay, now we wait!” You cheered happily as you lined the last one on rows and rows of toilet roll you had set out on the coffee table; you were aware it was gross but you planned on cleaning it afterwards, but you needed a large surface for the test, and the dining table didn’t seem like a good idea.
You sat there, your leg bouncing up and down as you watched the tests from the couch anxiously. Derek was pacing at the other side of the coffee table making you look at him with the deadliest glare, before you could tell him to sit down the loft door burst open and you stood up panicking.
You looked up to see Peter, who looked shocked by you and Derek staring at him like he was a trespasser. Your eyes widened as you pointed to Derek signalling for him to get rid of him, but Peter scrunched his face n distaste as he got closer.
“Why does it smell like someone marked there territory in here?” Peter gagged and your eyes widened.
“Don’t come any closer, Hale!” You screamed as you pointed at Derek’s uncle.
“Okay, did I walk in on some weird kinky thing?” Peter asked in distaste.
“Why does everyone think we’re always doing something kinky?!” You screeched, your arms flopping to your side in exasperation.
“Baby…” Derek tried by you immediately cut him off.
“Not now, Derek! I need to know why the pac-”
“Babe! Look!” He shouted, effectively shutting you up you looked at him with a glare before he pointed at the tests.
Every single one was positive. Holy shit, you were pregnant with Derek Hales baby. You looked at him with wide eyes when he stared at you as if trying to see how you felt about it. When your grin broke out, so did his, his arms immediately on your hips to lift you up happily, burying his head in your neck.
Suddenly you were very aware Peter was still stood there, as he hadn’t said anything you glanced over and found him staring directly at all the tests with wide eyes. You looked back at Derek in worry but he stayed silent like he was waiting for Peter to get his bearings.
“Congratulations, dear nephew… Talia would be proud.” Peter stated uncharacteristically gentle and you started sobbing shocking both men.
“Good luck with that. Bye.” Peter added with an arrogant smile on his face as he left Derek to deal with you.
“Peter’s not so bad! People should be nicer to him.” You sobbed making Derek snort humourlessly.
“Oh dear… Isn’t it a little early for the hormones to start?” Derek laughed and you just started sobbing more.
“Why am I crying?!” You cried into his chest, sniffling into his top, his scent instantly calming you.
“When do you want to tell the pack?” Derek asked softly as he kissed the top of your head.
“Tonight.” You sniffled as you pulled away to look at him. You could barely believe you were pregnant despite seeing the 25 tests with your own eyes. You were so happy, and Derek seemed even more excited, which made you proud that you could be the one to give him a family.
You were falling for Derek Hale, and for once, there wasn’t a reason to worry because you felt completely safe doing it.
********
When the pack all wandered in for the usual Friday pack night, you were in the kitchen making mocktails for the whole pack before making a few alcoholic ones for the adults that weren’t pregnant. The pack looked confused as they crowded around the dinner table with the take out bags.
You strolled over to the table as Derek and Peter carried the drink trays out behind you, looking unusually happy, and nobody dared speak like they were concerned for your mental stability. Malia glared at her father as if he was just as insane, while he helped you into your chair.
You made aimless chatter with Lydia, and the pack quickly relaxed so you started serving out the take away food that Scott had brought. You ate more than usual, making Stiles tease you, but you just stuck your tongue out at him causing him to scoff in disbelief.
After everyone had finished the food, the pack started to make their way to the couches and you gave Derek a nod as he stood in front of the pack with a small awkward smile. Everyone looked at him curiously but waited for him to speak, knowing it wasn’t Derek’s forte.
“We have some news, and I’d like everyone to remember mouth filters…” He stated as he directed his gaze to Stiles, who scoffed again, making everyone laugh.
“I’m pregnant.” You stated casually, and the pack just stared for what felt like forever, but then everyone went insane.
“Congratulations, Y/N. You’re gonna make a great mother.” Melissa stated, as she got up from her seat to hug you.
“You’re gonna be a great dad too, Derek. I’m so proud of how far you’ve come.” She added and she pulled Derek into a hug much to his shock.
“Thank you.” He mumbled, a blush taking over his ears and cheeks as he pulled away from Melissa.
“Congrats, man. Honestly, if anyone deserves this it’s you.” Stiles said as he approached Derek and the wolf’s eyes widened in surprise before softening and bringing Stiles into a firm hug, clearly shocking the younger boy, but he laughed and gave into the wolfs hug before pulling away and looking at you.
“You are the only girlfriend he’s had that I actually like.” Stiles whispered playfully and you let out a laugh before bringing him into a hug.
“You’re gonna be great parents.” He added seriously making your smile soften.
“Thank you.” You replied honestly as you pulled away.
“For everything… Like Derek, I have no family left and you guys have given me that. Through everything we’ve been through, that fact has only gotten stronger and for that I will be eternally grateful. I know a lot of you didn’t trust me when I first showed up, but after fighting together and surviving together for so long we’re stronger than any blood related family out there. So, thank you for being my family and I can’t wait to add to it.” You expressed slowly, Melissa and Lydia were crying into their significant others shoulder as you raised your glass in cheers
Everyone raised theirs in return with happy and satisfied smiles on their faces and for once everything felt complete, like finally having a baby on the way made this family more real and suddenly you couldn’t wait until the little one arrived.
Can you do a writing where Derek Morgan takes care of the reader whenever she has really bad period cramps?. I think it would be so sweet and fluffy to read. He could call her babygirl ❤️
Something Domestic
Pairing: Derek Morgan x Reader
Summary: What happens when Derek comes home after a full day of work, finding you curled up and in pain?
Warnings: mentions of period and blood as well as pain.
-------
Opening the door to your flat, Derek was surprised to find it dark and quiet. Usually, as long as you were home, there was always some source of light, the smell of scented candles, which often times also were the source of light, and some kind of noise. Sometimes you’d play music or the sounds of the TV could be heard as well as the soft sounds of you cooking or doing something else. Maybe you’d already gone to sleep. Unlikely going by the time, but not impossible. You usually made a point of staying awake as long as you knew he was coming over, which in todays case you did. He didn’t expect you to nor was he disappointed that you weren’t still awake, but it was still unusual.
Derek gently toed off his shoes and hung up his jacket by the door, quietly placing his work bag in the living room. Approaching the door to your bedroom, he quietly opened it. As soon as he laid eyes on you, a frown appeared on his face. You weren’t sleeping peacefully like he had expected you to. Instead you were curled around your midsection, body tense and face buried into your pillow. Definitely not a sleeping position.
You only turned your head once you felt his big, warm hand smooth over you hair and blearily blinked at him, just to find him kneeling on the floor next to your head. His heart broke as his eyes studied your face, taking in your tear streaked cheeks. His hand continued to soothingly thread through your hair while he moved his own face a little closer to you, making sure to study every single expression.
„What’s wrong, Babygirl?“, he softly cooed at you.
„I started my period today“, you croaked back, feeling a little ridiculous to make a fuss about it. But your body hurt - the day had started with a blazing headache and had been followed by cramps that had forced you to double over.
„Hurts“, you added in a small voice, the tears you’d shed clearly heard in the way your voice wavered a little.
„I’m sorry you feel this poorly, Sweetheart“, Derek murmured against your skin before pressing his lips against your forehead in a gentle kiss. His hand found its way down your back, gently rubbing over your lower back and coming to rest over your stomach.
„How about I run you a hot bath to relax and help with the cramps?“ He only moved towards the bathroom to run said bath after you had nodded slowly. A few minutes later he came back to help you out of bed and towards the bathtub. Warm and gentle hands carefully helped you out of your clothes, not commenting on the fact that you had bled through them since you hadn’t been able to move for hours, before assisting you with stepping into the bath. The room smelled like lavender and sandalwood, the smell of your favourite relaxing Epsom Salts, and the water had the perfect temperature. Which was to say that Derek felt like his skin might melt off his body when touching the water. One reason you rarely showered together.
„Thank you“ you whispered, still keeping a hold of Derek’s hand. He pressed a kiss against your temple and settled on the floor besides the tub, quietly talking about some trick Spencer had shown him at the office and how Emily had nearly smashed her printer in rage. You closed you eyes and let his comforting voice wash over you, your body slowly starting to relax. You loved his voice and in turn you loved to listen to him talk about mundane things. Derek had picked up on it after a little while and now tended to ramble anytime he noticed that you were stressed or needed some distraction. He also thought that it was quite endearing how much you relaxed at the sound of his voice.
„Let me wash your hair, Babygirl?“, he asked after a while. You hummed in agreement and moved to sit up, his strong hands supporting you. He moved to get a cup from the counter, which he used to gently wet your hair with the warm water, carefully tilting your head back and making sure that the water didn’t get into your eyes. You closed your eyes in contentment as his strong fingers started to massage the shampoo into your hair.
„Feels good“, you murmured, which made him chuckle. His warm lips pressed against your temple before he continued to massage your scalp. He hated seeing you in pain. And seeing your tear stained face earlier had nearly broken his heart. He hated to imagine how you’d been lying in bed, curled up in pain, while he had been joking with his colleagues.
You sighed at his ministrations and melted into his hands, feeling some of your inner tension leave. You hadn’t been able to relax once since getting up and you were just now noticing the toll it had taken on you. Allowing Derek to manipulate your head, you savoured the feeling of the warm water running through your hair and slowly washing away the suds. Once he was done, he carefully guided your body to lean back against the tub and placed your head on a folded up towel, which he had placed on the edge of it.
You looked up at him, catching his soft gaze and smiled slightly.
„Thank you!“
„No need to thank me, Babygirl. Are you going to be alright for a few minutes while I go and change the sheets?“ He still sounded worried, which warmed your heart more than it probably should.
You nodded at him, gently grabbing his hand that was still placed against your cheek and pressed a kiss against the palm of it. His thumb gently traced your lips before he moved back towards the bedroom. You closed your eyes again, listening to the sounds of Derek moving around the room. You could hear the tell-tale sound of the sheets being stripped followed by steps towards the linen closet in the hall before there were again sounds of rustling sheets and Derek’s voice muttering something under his breath. You couldn’t help but smile at it. He always had troubles with the fitted sheets, insisting that they were a demonic invention.
He was back only a few moments later, carrying the sheets and added them to the basket with the other laundry you had planned on washing today.
„Are you ready to get out yet?“, he asked teasingly to which you shook your head.
„Can you grab me some clothes to change into?“ He turned towards you to reveal that he was already carrying them. You giggled, which made his smile widen, and grabbed the washcloth to clean yourself. In the meantime Derek retrieved two towels, hanging them over the heating to warm them up a little and your heart warmed at his thoughtfulness.
Once you were finished washing, you asked him to help you out of the tub. You had expected him to lend a supporting hand. You had not expected him to reach into the tub and lift you out of it and into his arms, which was why you couldn’t suppress the small squeal of surprise that escaped you.
„Derek! I’m going to get you all wet and bloody like that!“ He raised his eyebrows at you in a move that clearly said „and do I look like I care?“ before gently settling you on your feet, wrapping the warmed up towel around your body and placing you on the closed toilet seat. While you were still trying to grasp what had happened, his hands already moved to dry your hair with the second towel.
„I can do it on my own“, you weakly protested, not wanting to appear weak or like Derek had to do everything. However, he just shushed you.
„Let me spoil you, Sweetheart. Makes me feel better after leaving you alone all day while you were in pain.“
„You don’t have to. It wasn’t that bad and I’m old enough to deal with it on my own.“ He stopped rubbing your hair once it was no longer dripping water and ducked down a little to press a kiss against your forehead before gazing into your eyes. His hazel ones soft and full of emotions.
„I know that you can deal with it on your own. You shouldn’t have to, though. And I personally think that it was bad enough, wasn’t it?.“
You bit your lip and nodded in response. How had you been lucky enough to find a man like Derek to call your partner? Never before had one of your partners been this considerate to your needs and that unbothered about the messy parts that sometimes came with having your period.
Once you had been dried up, he carefully helped you to step into your favourite pair of period panties and sweats, before helping you to put on one of his soft and ridiculously large shirts. Once he had sat you down on the toilet again, he grabbed your fuzzy socks from the heating and kneeled in front of you, to gently grab your feet and put them on for you. Gazing down at this ridiculously attractive and attentive man, kneeling in front of you with a pair of brightly coloured socks in his hands, your heart did something complicated. Your hands reached forward of their own volition, gently cupping his face and tugging him upwards to press your lips against his in a loving kiss you hoped conveyed the flood of emotions you were feeling. Warm hands gently squeezed your ankles once the socks were on, before moving to lift you up once again. This time you didn’t protest and simply buried your face against Derek’s shoulder, pressing a kiss against the smooth skin. After having dressed you, he had discarded his own shirt which he had soaked by lifting you out of the tub, and you weren’t going to complain about the feeling of his bare chest against your skin. You also were never going to be complaining about the sight if you were completely truthful.
He placed you on the bed and wrapped the fresh sheets around you, before excusing himself to get something from the kitchen. Only a few minutes later did he come back with a small tray filled to the brim with drinks and snacks as well as pain medications. It had only taken him a few minutes, but when he stepped back into the room, you’d curled up again. Hugging a pillow to your lower stomach in hopes to ease the pain.
He frowned at the display. He absolutely hated to see you in pain. He saw people injured and dying on a regular basis, but those experiences somehow didn’t come close to how he felt now. Setting down the tray on the bedside table, he moved to sit beside you. If he were able to take your pain away, he would do so in an instant. As it was, he could only do so much. One of those things was to gently extract the pillow that you were still clutching and to exchange it for the hot water bottle he had brought.
„Does that feel alright, Babygirl? Not too hot?“
You savoured the warmth that slowly eased the tension that had built back up again. You muttered your thanks while you moved to sit against the headboard of the bed. Derek settled in beside you before moving the tray in between your bodies. Steady hands passed you a cup of your favourite tea, which you gratefully sipped on, only now realising how thirsty you were. Soon your cup was empty and put back onto the tray.
„Do you think you could eat a sandwich, Sweetheart? After not eating anything today it would be better to have something in your stomach before taking the painkillers.“
While you weren’t particularly hungry, you knew that Derek was right. Taking them without food might as well lead to a stomach ache and if there was anything you really didn’t need today, it was even more pain.
You grabbed one of the sandwiches and took a small bite, realizing that Derek had made them the way you preferred. How you loved that man! Sending him a appreciative smile, you quickly finished the sandwich as well as some of the berries and a piece of chocolate he’d assembled.
Once you’d finished, you took some of the pain medication and swallowed them down with another cup of tea while Derek placed the tray on his bedside table. After you had placed your hot water bottle against your lower stomach again, he pulled you into his side. You buried your face against his chest and moved to settle your body in a way that hurt the least. Once you’d stilled, his strong arms wrapped themselves around you protectively, bringing you impossibly closer to his form.
„Thank you, Derek. You’ve really helped with everything that’s been going on today. I really don’t deserve you“, you whispered against his skin, pressing a kiss against it to underline your gratefulness for his help. His warm lips pressed against your temple while one of his hands moved to draw gentle circles on your back and the other one came to rest on you lower back, placed at exactly the spot that bothered you the most.
„Wrong. You do deserve me and it. And you deserve so much more, Babygirl.“ His voice was soft but firm and you gradually relaxed against his body. Slowly lulled into sleep by his steady heartbeat and breathing and the warmth of his body that seeped into yours

I'm really loving this series and hope you guys love it too!
Scott's always trusted Derek's gut, or regretted not.
You were all gathered around the television, everyone happily watching some zombie movie baby wolf picked. Stiles was sitting in the chair next to you, Derek on the other side of you, Lydia placed next to him, and Scott in front of you. Erica is in the floor in front of Boyd, Malia in front of Stiles, Kira next to Scott. Isaac and Liam in bean bag chairs in the floor. It was calm.
This is how you enjoyed spending time with your pack. The people you've come to love and see grow all sitting peacefully, playfully teasing each other when they jump or let out a small growl. You'd all fallen into sync after everything settled, even with the Argents supernatural prison you'd pushed for. Everyone's biggest worry was the Nemeton's strays and keeping the supernatural in order. You thought to yourself, maybe I can tell them soon.
You sighed to yourself, asking the group as you prepared yourself to get up, "Anyone want anything?" With a flurry of, "Just a pop," "I saw cow tails, one of those please!" and "Water please," you got up stepping around Scott as he smiled at you. He turned quickly to nod at Derek. It was too late before you noticed it, Stiles noticed though. He scrambled out of his chair, grabbing your shoulders and pulling you to him, trying to get you away from Scott and Derek. Pulling the attention of Liam and Isaac who jump out of their chair also, and Derek. Sweet Derek who had a hold of your arm, claw dug in just a hair, but enough for you to yelp in pain and create just a few drops of blood.
The moment was frozen. Stiles had pushed himself in front of you, placing himself between you, Scott and Derek. Derek's claw holding a single drop of blood. Different emotions rumble in all of them in a split second. Malia noticed the change in the air, pulling Kira up as Boyd and Erica rose to position. Isaac and Liam staring at Derek in disbelief and anger. Derek is boring holes into you.
The hair on every wolf was standing up, your mask falling, tears instantly pooling in your eyes, slowly and silently running down your face. Stiles still holding the defensive. Just like that it's over, Derek takes a pointed whiff of the air, his eyes flashing red, your hands instantly went to your ears, covering them for protection, feeling his anger boil up.
Derek let out a growl, deep from inside him, shaking the walls and windows of the loft. The growl was long, demanding, angry. Everyone wolf in the room flashes their eyes, everyone but you. Derek's eyes are locked on yours, your solid bright red, innocent eyes. Everyone sees. Everyone twists, sensing the danger from each other. Growls are being tossed back and forth, no fight declared between alphas, so no fight declared between betas. You're visibly shaking, eyes now dimmed to y/e/c and the only thing that Derek can muster is another growl, causing you to scream. Isaac and Liam are now next to you, sensing your fear, Liam wrapped his arms around you protectively as Derek continued roaring, Isaac standing defensively.
"Let go of my mate!"
Liam didn't move, nobody did. Processing what he just said, the wolves looked at each other, at you, at Derek. You looked at everyone, taking in how they were feeling. Scott was now standing claws out, confused with a hint of protectiveness, on edge with Derek challenging his betas. Stiles was curious and defensive, still having his eye on Derek but, far enough back the wolves could fight it out without involving him. Erica was angry, already transformed with her claws out. Boyd was calm, standing defensively behind Erica, ready to grab her if she lashed. Kira was unsettled, one hand on Scotts shoulder one on her sword. Lydia was next to Stiles, behind him really, with an awestruck appearance. Derek growled again as Liam's hands remained on you.
You let out a painful yelp at the anger he was radiating, tears still falling. Liam tried to console your shaking body, he didn't realize you could be so fragile. Isaac tried to reason with Derek, "You're scaring her man!" Liam was trying to block your body from Derek, Isaac placing his hands on Derek's chest, repeating lowly, "Derek! You are scaring her!" Derek let out a calmer warning growl as his eyes dimmed back to his beautiful green. You gently moved Liam out of the way, gently calling to Derek, "Derek, I'm sorry." You backed up, countering his step forward. "Please," Derek whispered, still pushing, sounding desperate. Isaac looked back to you, and you nodded. You wanted to be close to him just as bad as he did, he just needed to calm down. Derek's eyes sparked to life as he stops about arms reach from you. Isaac and Liam standing defensively, rumbling at Derek, reminding him he goes no further.
Your eyes mimicked his, Derek growling, "Mate." You smiled ever so slightly, a resolve falling over you as you whispered, "Mate." Derek quickly pulled you to him, wrapping his arms around you as he breathed you in deeply. You were shocked, you didn't know what to expect but it wasn't this. You rested your head on him, arms circling him, clenching the back of his shirt in pure need for your mate. You took a deep breath as his scent surrounded you. Derek held you close to him, sliding arms around your waist and giving you a singular soft kiss on the nape of your neck. You felt protected, home, calm.
You gasped as Derek picked you up, his head now buried deep in your neck. You were so overrun with emotions you were still crying. After so long, you were able to scent your mate, your true mate. You weren't sure you would ever be able to scent properly, you could smell him all over his apartment, but he couldn't even smell you. You couldn't really touch him, couldn't get close with him. You couldn't help but wonder how different it would've been if you were honest. Doesn't matter now.
Summary: Derek finding out that the girl he loved as a kid got into a serious accident and he can't help himself
—————————————————————————————————
He hadn’t seen you in years.
Derek wasn’t even sure you were still in Beacon Hills, until he found out about the accident. It was in the news, as plenty of the dangerous accidents in the area were, but something was different about this one.
When the dark haired male heard the news in passing, at first, he did nothing. Every little thing that happened in this place was of no interest to him but the second he heard your name, he stopped.
It was as if the world had stopped around him, every cell in his body forcing him to pay attention to the screen.
There was nothing supernatural about it, no monster to be slain or anything like that. It was nothing more than a car accident, something that could have happened to anyone, something almost too normal to occupy so much of his mind.
However, it didn’t just happen to anyone. This had happened to you, and based on what the report had said, the doctors weren’t all that hopeful that you were going to pull through. In fact, it sounded almost as if they had given up hope entirely.
That just wasn’t going to work.
Immediately, all Derek could think about was you laying in that hospital bed, all alone and struggling to hold on. It wasn’t right, for someone like you to go out that way, so before he could talk himself out of it, he made up his mind.
It was stupid.
It was reckless.
It was necessary.
No matter what happened, Derek knew that he had to do something to save you. He had a gift, something he could do, and if he chose not to do anything about it, it was almost as if he’d killed you himself.
...And he promised you that would never happen.
As Derek ran in the direction of the hospital, his feet hammering against the ground as he moved, all he could think about was that day. That same day he promised you that he would never let anything happen to you.
You were kids, before the fire consumed everything in his life, and you couldn’t have been closer. You had always been Derek’s best friend, and he told you everything, even things he kept from his own mother.
It was just the kind relationship you shared.
You told him everything and trusted him with your life, as he did with you.
It wasn’t easy, of course. In fact, most of the time, it was more dangerous than anything else, but you didn’t worry about it. Being human and having attached yourself to the side of a werewolf wasn’t exactly safe to begin with and you knew the risks.
Derek was worth it to you.
He had always been worth it.
That day, the one full of promises, had come after the first time Derek ever lost control in front of you. You were terrified, as you should have been, and could hardly look him in the eye. He was sure you would leave him there, and never look back, but you didn’t.
Though, looking back, perhaps you should have.
You cared about one another enough to make the risk seem worth it but the fact was that Derek was dangerous, for a really long time, hanging on by a string. He was out of control most of the time, adn could fly off the handle for no reason.
Not even you could stop it.
After the fire, he only got worse.
He was angry, and hurt, and lost. He didn’t have anything to hold on too, except for you, and even that only presented itself like too great a risk. He knew that if he wasn’t careful, Derek would end up getting you killed too.
So, he pushed you away.
He pushed you away until you didn’t have much of a choice but to leave him be, which is exactly what happened.
That was a long time ago now, and he hadn’t seen you since then. However, as questionable as the choices he was making were, he couldn’t stop himself. Derek knew that he could deal with everything else later, all he had to do now was making sure you didn’t die.
...And that was the one thing he could control.
By the time he reached the hospital, he was sure that his feet were probably bleeding from the damage he’d just put them through but he didn’t pay that any mind. Instead, he headed right to the front desk, breath raging through his nostrils.
“I’m here to see Y/N Y/L/N, please. She’s the only family I have” he explained, doing his best not to get into the details of it while also giving enough for her to let him pass. All he could do was try and thankfully, she let him through.
They didn’t have much information about you other than what was on your I.D and if he had anything additional about you to tell them that would help, she didn't dare turn him away.
In all honesty though, Derek didn’t hear much more than that initial allowance and your room number before he took off in that direction. Nothing else mattered, and seeing as he was in a hospital, no one really questioned it.
Terrible things were happening all over, and whatever was happening to him, they understood the need to rush.
You looked terrible.
As soon as he saw you, Derek felt his heart sink.
The accident had really done a number on you, and it looked like they had you hooked up to every machine they had. Clearly, whatever they had wasn’t going to be able to pull you out of whatever this was.
Luckily, that was why he was here.
Derek had the only thing in the world that could keep your heart beating, assuming that your body accepted it, the bite. There was no guarantee that it was going to go well, or that you were going to be okay, but he had to try.
If he did nothing, you were going to die anyway, so anything he had couldn’t hurt.
Then, before Derek could think of any more risky reasons not to do what he was going to do, he reached out and took your practically limp wrist in his hands. You really weren’t doing well, but he just had to hope this would be enough.
If it wasn't, he didn’t know what he was going to do.
There weren’t many more viable options after werewolf bite, but nevertheless, the deed was done.
Now, all he could do was wait.
~
It took half an hour.
Half and hour and the bite still hadn’t seemed to be doing much for you at first. To be fair, most of your systems were almost entirely out of play. Thankfully, before too long, your pulse started to pick up and it seemed to be working.
It was all Derek could have hoped for in coming here, and it would have been a lie to say that he didn’t feel more relief in that moment than he had in his entire life at it having been a success.
Though, it brought him even more relief when you sat up, all the color returning to your face and a gasp for air on your lips. You were panicked, of course, trying to recall how you had gotten to this hospital in the first place and what was going on.
Not that any of that came before the man sitting at the side of your bed, staring at you with expectant eyes.
“Hi”
Derek spoke first, though the word felt like sandpaper leaving his throat. After all this time, there should have been more than he could say. There should have been more that came to mind but it just wasn’t there.
By all accounts, he couldn’t think of a single thing to say.
He could have started with explaining that you were nearly killed in a head on collision on the street, or that he had given you a bite that would change your life forever and turn you into a slave to the moon.
It was far from an ice breaker.
“Derek? What is going on? What are you doing here?” you asked, rubbing your eyes aggressively to clear the harsh lighting and fuzzy glaze from your eyes. You were trying your best to make this make sense, but it wasn’t working.
You were lost.
...And frankly, Derek wasn’t doing much better than you were in that way.
“I have a lot to explain to you, but this isn’t the place” he suggested, fully aware that nothing about this place was going to make this conversation any easier to swallow. Besides, it was hardly where he wanted to tell you that he had bitten you.
Of course, it was a bit easier considering that you already knew about the supernatural side of Beacon Hills. At least he didn’t have to have the ‘werewolves are real’ conversation with you like he had with Scott.
Nothing he was saying made any sense, or really helped make you feel more at peace with this whole thing but you figured he was here, so it wouldn’t kill you to trust him. After all, he had saved your life plenty of times before.
You had trusted him for most of your life, and it certainly wouldn’t kill you to do it one more time.

Children. They let absolute children into the ER.
“Paging Dr. L/N to the ER. Dr. L/N to the Er. Thank you,” you hear called over the intercom. You’re not sure why you’re being paged so you lightly jog down the stairs and head to the ER.
Chaos is the first word that comes to mind when you see then ER. People standing on beds, kids running through nurses legs, scalpels being used as darts.
“What the hell is going on here?” You yell out to basically no one. A nurse sees your confusion and stops.
“Dr. L/N, it’s all hands on deck. We’ve got 2 GSW’s, someone has a knife stuck in them, someone has a table leg in them, and it’s too chaotic to remember the rest. So knock yourself out,” the nurse says and rushes off to Trauma One.
‘Ok I can do this. Start with the most important and work your way down’ you think to yourself. You check on both GSW’s in each trauma room and realize the doctors have those taken care of and you would only get in the way. Next you move onto table leg person but there’s already a resident with him and you would only make them nervous. That left knife guy.
“Hi there sir. I’m just gonna check this knife out, make sure everything’s ok before we can pull it out,” you say as you start inspecting the area that the knife was in. Truth be told if that knife came out or moved an inch, this guy was bleeding out.
“Oh you mean this knife,” he asks as he pulls it out. You groan. He’s gonna bleed out and a lot of people will blame you. And his adrenaline was gone so he passed out, dropping the knife on the floor.
“I need some help in here,” you shout into the hall as you hit the code blue button. This patient was definitely not making it.
In the midst of the chaos of nurses coming in, you missed the kid who ran in. He picked up the knife and stabbed you right in the stomach. But you were also on adrenaline and you missed it.
“Time of death 17:58” you say as you throw the lap pads down onto him. “Hey guys, I don’t feel so good. I think I’m just gonna lay down,” you say as you start to stumble. You fall to the floor with a groan, the last thing in your sight being the knife in your stomach.

Blink
Where’s Derek?
Blink
What happened?
Blink
Where are we going?
Blink
Am I dying?
Blink
-
You open your eyes and realize you’re choking on something. You hear a voice as hands are on you.
“It’s ok Dr. L/N, we’re gonna take this tube out of your throat,” they say as you blink and cough. “Do you need some water? Is there anyone we can call?” They start asking too many questions.
You groan, trying to get out that none of their questions were gonna be answered.
“Shep,” you groan out. You just needed Derek. “Herd”.
A nurse's head pokes up,” Shepherd? Is that who you want.” You groan in response. You just wanted cuddles. “Ok, I’ll get him for you. Not sure why you want a neurosurgeon for a stab in the stomach but ok”
“Paging Dr. Shepherd to room 348. Dr. Shepherd to room 348,” you hear over the intercom. You keep your eyes trained on the door, waiting for him.
After what felt like an eternity, which it really was because he wasn’t paged 911, he walks into the room. His eyes go wide as he sees you in the bed.
“Are you ok? Why wasn’t I paged 911? What happened? Are you in pain? Do I need to up your morphine?” He asks. You reach your hand out to him. You just wanted cuddles and you wanted them from here. “Oh darling” he says as he kisses your forehead and grabs your hand.
“Hi” you whisper out. You pat the spot on the bed next to you,”Please?”
His eyes soften at you, all questions leaving his mind. He sits gently on the bed so as not to disturb any of the wires or tubes in you and lays an arm around your shoulder.
“Ok, I’ll stay,” he says. He looks up as a resident walks in,” Chambers, will you check on my patients, and only page me if there’s an emergency?” The resident nods as he looks over you. He redresses your wounds and then leaves, with a promise to Derek not to bother you both.
-
“Do you need anything?” he whispers for what feels like the 70th time.
“What I need is for you to stop asking me that question. Just talk to me. I need to take my mind off this,” you say. You really didn’t want to talk right now, but you wanted to hear his voice.
“Ok baby. I can do that,” he says as he starts talking about his patients and his day,” There’s this kid in room 249, who has seizures but when he recovers from it, he stands on his bed and re-enacts scenes from Revenge of the Sith. He scared the nurse. It was hilarious baby. I wish you could have seen it. Maybe we can go visit him.” You giggle at him, and then immediately regret it, groaning in pain.
“Are you ok?” He asks. You shoot him a glare as he asks that. “Ok, ok I’m just making sure you’re ok. How about I sneak in some hot chocolate for you?”
You look at him in awe,” You would do that for me? What if the nurses find out? They would have field day with you.”
“It’s worth it for you my love. Anything else?” He asks. You mumble something, but apparently he doesn’t hear you,” What was that my love? You actually want something?”
You glare at him and lightly hit his shoulder as not to disturb your wound,” Can I also have cookies? Please?”
“I’ll see what I can find, just give me 30 minutes and I’ll be back,” he says as you make a pouty face at him.
“That’s too long away from you Derek. Can’t you have a resident bring it? Or an intern?” you give him your best pouty look so he’ll come back and lay down next to you again.
“I don’t want the nurses to get mad at anyone but me. I don’t like it but I love you and I’ll be right back, I swear,” Derek says as he walks out the door.
Your eyes widen as he walks the door. You guys hadn’t said ‘I love you’ yet and he just said it so nonchalantly. It shocked you. You weren’t quite sure if you were ready.
You were stuck in your own brain from Derek’s words, so you didn’t notice your eyesight go fuzzy, but you did hear “she’s coding” before your eyesight went black.
-
When your eyesight came back to you for the second time, you see an intern in the chair next to you asleep. You rake a hand over your face and groan. Again the nurses decide not to page Derek.
The intern shoots you wide eyed that you were awake. “You’re awake,” he exclaims and his hands shoot down to his pager, sending a page to someone you assume. You nod because it’s pretty obvious you’re awake.
You yawn and look at the kid,” water,” you whisper like he should already know this. He frantically nods his head and runs into the bathroom fixing a glass of water and bringing it back to you.
“Ren, you’re dismissed,” he pauses and then continues,” Thank you.” You look up, and of course you see Derek leaning in the doorway.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have left. I should have had Ren get it. But I got your cookies and your hot chocolate. And I even cleared it with the nurses so they wouldn’t be too mad. And I also may have let it slip that we’re dating but it’s kind of obvious because you don’t need a neurosurgeon and why else would I be in here,” he rambled on and you giggle at him.
“Derek, honey, you’re rambling. Just come lay down,” you say as you pat the spot next to you in the tiny bed.
As he positions himself that’s comfortable for him and you for the second time today, he kisses your forehead and says,”I’m never leaving you again.” In the comfortable silence, you succumb to darkness but instead of a flatline, you hear Derek’s heartbeat.

The sun shines through the big windows of the loft, slowly pulling you from your slumber. Your eyes fall on Derek’s naked body, flashbacks from last night evading your thoughts. He’s still fast asleep on his stomach while one of his arms is loosely draped over your waist. You shuffle a little closer. Your body now pressed against his side while your hand moves into his hair, fingers softly massaging his scalp.
His eyes flutter open, a soft smile grazes his lips. A gasp escapes your lips as your eyes meet his. The sun brings out the forest green of his eyes like you’ve never seen before. It’s magical.
Your hand now rests on his cheek, your thumb slowly caressing it while he tightens his grip on your waist. You press a featherlight kiss on his cheek. When you pull back, you see his eyes resting on the necklace that you’re wearing, more specifically the pendant.
Last night he surprised you with the necklace in question. You were speechless. When words fail you, you opt for action which is the reason why the both of you are naked right now. A blush spreads over your cheeks thinking about it.
Derek’s morning voice pulls you from your thought. “Your own little triskelion,” he whispers while moving you around so he can rest his head in the crook of your neck, letting sleep claim him once more.
“My own triskelion, thanks to you,” you whisper before placing a kiss on his forehead and joining in the blissful world of sleep.

tw: angst? but nothing gruesome. just a little drama and some fluff))
Last time you were out in the field, you got hurt so badly that you were in the hospital for a week. The bomb blew while you and the hostage were sprinting out of the building and sent you flying. You were knocked unconcious and didn’t wake up for a couple days, causing Derek to worry about how you would recover once you did wake up. He knew you were going to wake up. When you finally did wake up, it was almost midnight and you saw him snoozing in the chair next to you, tie slightly loosened. You groaned as you noticed that there was a baseball inside your hand. Of course he put it there to remind you of him if you woke up when he wasn’t there. You quietly groaned and derek popped his eye open, seeing you stare at him. “Hey,” he said quietly, leaning forward to touch your hand, “Here, I’ll get the nurse.” He slowly got up but you stopped him, grabbing onto his hand with as much strength you could muster. You were already getting a headache from how bright the overhead light was. “No. Stay.” Was all you could manage before you fell asleep. It took a few more days to get you back on your feet but you were fine and ready to go back to work. Until Hotch told you that you weren’t going back into the field for 2 weeks, at which point he would re-evaluate based on how you’re feeling. You couldn’t even go on the assignments and hang out with JJ, which didn’t help. So you stayed back.
After 2 weeks, you were able to get back on cases. First case back, a bomber in Florida was causing panic. While you were more than ready to get back on the plane with the rest of the team, Derek was less than excited. Sure, Hotch trusted you based on his assessment of you but Derek was unsure, leading to his hush-toned conversation with Hotch. In the end, Derek volunteered to stay back to study the bomb but he was also excited to have you with him where he could keep an eye on you as he got used to the idea of having you back in the field.
