"don't you—?" nate started then stopped, as though courage had left him before he'd manage to reach the end of the sentence. it took a second, for him to take a deep breath, start again, "do you maybe wanna—" he had to clear his throat, "hm, maybe you could stay the night, if you don't have like something to do tomorrow or whatever." the whole attempt at a sentence ending with a very tired sigh.

"hey, can you just cut it out? you don't give a damn about me, so why the hell should i have to pretend like we're in some cheesy movie?" she snapped, her tone filled with disbelief.
