"apprehensive about our friendship? i have known you my whole life," and yet, here he was, letting some girl slowly erase her from his life. "don't lie to me, please just .. don't do that." she whispers, defeat lacing her features now. "she doesn't want me around so you chose her. it's fine, but just say it. don't hide behind excuses about practice and being busy. "
“well, yeah,” Danny laughed, in admission, grin spreading, as he gave his friend a light, playful shove. "but this ain’t about me. I’m not the one startin’ shit.” he knew better than to take her proposal seriously, though there was some quiet, traitorous part of him that wished he could. for now, he kept that part of him carefully tucked away, as he had for much of his life, hardly much longer than the duration of time they’d known each other. taking another sip of his drink, Danny shook his head. “you don’t want me to kiss you, Wilson.”
