I was wondering if anyone here with a somewhat hairy chest has had peri or dermal flap, and if you've experienced abscesses, and how serious they were? I was told that with a hairy chest there is a higher risk of developing abscesses, since the surgery preserves the dermis from around the nipple. I was told at my consultation most people were fine, but a small number of people had to get free nipple grafts in a revision surgery because the abscesses wouldn't go away with antibiotics.
