2. is your room messy or clean?I prefer to describe it as organized chaos. Given my limited space, I have to make the best of what’s available, so that means alot of time spent figuring out how to stack things. Most people would call it messy.
14. if you can live anywhere in the world where would it be? why?There are many places I like to visit but they aren’t places I want to stay for very long. I like the desert, I like deciduous forest, I like Mediterranean islands. I guess I don’t really have any major desire to live in many of those places though. Appalachia would be nice.
48. who is your role model?Bil Herd immediately comes to mind, as he’s a persistent and dedicated engineer with the desire to teach others and pass along information and history. Steve Wozniak also comes to mind, as he found ways to get the most out hardware and optimize, all while being genial and genuine. I’m sure there are others, but those two come to mind immediately.
An aside about a few interesting parallels I share with Woz:
He was a phone phreak known for making blue boxes, and I study historical telephony which is best viewed through the lens of phone phreaks.
He homebrewed a 6502 machine to meet his needs, and I’ve done the same (albeit the resulting computers are very different).
He wanted to own a Data General Nova, and I am the proud owner of a Nova 1200.
