Dermal rejection guide
Okay, listen up all you wonderful micro dermal owners out there; you can’t say that you’ve never snagged your dermal at least once. BUT it isn’t very often that you actually hit/snag it hard enough for it to try and reject, so if you ever do here’s a handy little guide to help you keep that beautiful thing in your skin.
Okay, to start off, here’s how my incident went down; I had food poisoning and I was woken from a dead sleep to run to the bathroom to puke, I blacked out and ran right into the doorframe and what do you know, it hits me dead in the dermal (on my cheek). I didn’t think much of it because I’ve snagged it quite a few times in its two years but the next morning I realized it was kind of purple under the gem. I just shrugged it off, maybe it’s just bruised, right? Wrong. Another day passed and I realized that the purple spot was the shape and length of my dermal foot, along with my gem being tilted at a weird angle. It finally hit me that the ‘bruise’ was actually the foot trying to come out of my skin. I panicked and scavenged the whole internet looking for what to do to no avail. I decided to go ahead and try to fix it myself. What did I have to lose, right?
SO HERES WHAT YOU DO: First, you go to the store and get yourself a box of those handy little circle bandaids and some rubbing alcohol. You go home, clean around the gem with the alcohol and slap a bandaid on there and keep doing so for a couple days if it is still straightened out.
BUT, if your dermal is tilted, doing just the bandaid will only make it worse. In this case, you want to get two very small pieces of gauze or tissue and fold them up. Place them on either side of your dermal where the foot parts are, then put the bandaid over it after you’ve cleaned it with alcohol. This will keep it from pushing the dermal crooked and resulting in further rejection. Change the bandage and clean it a couple times a day to ensure it doesn’t get infected.
