Goodbye navel piercing...

Yesterday I sadly took out my navel piercing. The skin got very thin in the last months and weeks, it moved very slowly to the surface. It didn't hurt or showed signs of rejection, no itching, no redness. But it wasn't safe to wear anymore. So I consulted my piercer yesterday and he agreed with me, so I took it out - after only 2 years and 3 months 😭 Now summer is coming and I don't have a nice piercing in my navel. I only took out one other piercing so far (a helix that didn't want to heal, but that was already more that 15 years ago). It's so damn sad to take out a piercing when you don't want to...

I will get it repierced for sure, probably in November or December this year. The piercer said it's possible. So I hope I will have more luck next time.

The scar is really not bad fortunalety, just a 3mm reddish dot, and it will become lighter over time. Now I am down to 21 piercings again.

Me on my hands and knees pleading with my bridge piercing to not reject

Devastatingly, my body has rejected one of my piercings despite following care instructions really carefully. It's just one of those weird instances where the immune system has decided something normal is a threat.

For me, my body mods are part of my physical transition and having to get rid of one of my piercings feels like another set back in my transition. I cried over it this morning and then had to pull myself together to go in to work. I'm scared I won't be able to get any more piercings in the area because this is the second one to reject in the same spot and I had 5 more planned for that general part of my body. I've already had to stop hrt because my insurance doesn't cover it and I can't afford the $200 prescription, and now this. I'm not really sure what to do about this piercing. I'm unable to get in to see my piercer about possibly saving it so I just have to let it close up I guess.

damn. sometimes you just gotta accept that your piercing is rejecting. stop holding onto that thing, sweaty, it’s dying. let it die. stop playing with its corpse, just get it repierced later. gonna miss that fucker...

my eyebrow piercing is migrating out

i am very distressed because i love my eyebrow piercing, but I think I need to take it out now before it rejects properly and scars (worse) i can't even just go get a new one, because I need to take it out occasionally for work... i am much more heartbroken over this than i expected D:

My neck bar’s starting to reject :c but hey, two years is a pretty good time, and the main cause was probably the constant hooking and pulling on my hair and clothing. I’d say this all went well. Happy, yet sad~ c:
