Tumblr is the only thing keeping me from an all out depression over the end of Descendants just like it did for HTTYD and every other franchise that ended this year. I have never loved an actress before like I do Dove and I wish I could meet her just once to give her a hug and tell her how special the movies are to me and how much she means to me.

Rewatching Descendants 2 and just...its so, so good. What happened? They had such a good balance of song and plot and, for the most part, the plot MADE SENSE. The editing, acting and overall writing was better than the first. We got tons of cute scenes and realistic conflicts and a real problem for Mal. Not to mention Mal is just...absolutely stunning looking in this whole movie.

I just dont know how they went from such a solid movie to being so all over the place with so many plot holes and the, argueably, terrible solution of just demolishing the barrier where all the evil people were. It was like they thought REALISTICALLY for the 2nd one. Real problems, panic attacks and anxiety as well. But they seemed to just throw all realism about the Isle situation out the window in the second one. Their original plan to bring all the kids that wanted to come over could have just stayed in place. They literally didn't have to change a thing at all. Maybe most of the people on the Isle want to start anew but man...its just so sad to see them seemingly ignore so much canon for the sake of a big happy ending cause it just doesn't make any sense at all.

Sorry if you disagree, but the second movie is the best of the 3 and in my opinion, almost perfect. Dove is insanely gorgeous throughout the whole movie and you can relate to her really well trying to fit in. In the 3rd one she just makes a decision that makes 0 sense and she could have avoided the conflict with her friends if she had just thought of so many of the other measures they could take to ensure their safety...

Its just very frustrating as someone who loves the franchise so much to have waited so excitedly for this movie- and while I love every single song and many of the actual scenes and interactions, the plot is just...nonesensical. Rant over (I'm not here to argue)
