Hosuh's nightly routine of drawing. Even though very tired, he felt many feelings—both negative and positive in his nightly basis.

In one night, he reminded himself that he had friends who care for him, and he loved them back greatly and greatfully.

Description Practice: Plush Octopus

Omni Description

A light pink octopus plush sits on the white surface. It’s exterior coated in soft fuzz unlike real octopuses. However like the real animal, there were eight, yet small, limbs; as short as an inch like it would retreat inside its fluffy body.

Black bead-like eyes contrast with the pink as light reflected off crystal clearly. The sewing lines blended in with the plush.

This plush was ready for the shelves as no dirt or dust intruded the fuzz.

Child POV Description

Mr.Rosey! He’s my adorable octi- plushy! Yes he is! Or is it she? Eh- who cares! Mr.Rosey is all mine and I love them with all my heart!!! Hah hah hah!

I was searching for him all day until I found them on my window. I haven’t dressed him up yet but I’m getting there~ We- as in mommy, mommy

and me needs to head to the store to buy some accesor.. accasori... accss... accessories! Yeah- that’s it!

I’m planning on buying her a nice little tophat— most-likely purple with a bow— to wear on their round pretty head of theirs.

Hey, want to hear a small secret? The reasons why he’s called Mr.Rosey is because the oh so soft rose pink fuzz on her body! I looked it up (more like mommy but still!) and apparently the color is rose pink! Isn’t that amazing! I love all colors equally but that doesn’t mean I won’t catter- catter, ahem, to them when I need to.

Though, I did ask my mommy what the other, kinda more darker, pink stuff going down his face, between his pearly black eyes and on the side of his tentacles were. She said that it’s “threading” where they sewed Mr.Rosey up into their final shape.

All I can say is good job! You did an amazing job on her! Especially his eyes and tentacles that are practically little toe beans sticking out under him. Sometimes I think he wiggles them when I’m not around to stretch! I definitely would! But I’m alone in this belief.

People say he isn’t real, but I believe he is! His eyes are black yes— like a black hole— but sometimes they shimmer and sparkle. People say it’s light and reflac- reflic- reflection! Yeah, that’s the word! But I don’t believe it, I believe it’s when she’s the most happily!

Anyways— Let’s go have some fun Mr.Rosey!

Description Practice: Bangle Bracelets

Omni POV Description:

Sitting in the void is a bangle bracelet. There are about six rings of the bracelet. Each ring are connected by a loop made of copper-like material that’s cover with beads and copper stoppers in between. The beads plastic & transparent, colored light pink and dark blue. The light reflection white, orange, pink, purple and blue. Numerous charms sit hooked to the bracelet. The flat side of a charm engraved “JOYFUL, MERRY & BLESSED” in copper multiple curly fonts with copper stars.

Blacksmith POV Description:

My my? What is this? It’s seems to be someone’s finest creation yet.

It’s very colorful that’s for sure. Hmm I wonder what ore they used, I should be taking notes. Ho ho!

The wire seems to be copper with its rich almond color, the ores fruit I call it! Light highlights every curve and loop.

Glass-light jewels encase almost the entire wire,—my I wonder where this creation must be from! There’s so much resources to produce a wonder like this than they must be rich. I’m impressed!

Light shines through so clearly, allowing for each jewel to sparkle at its best. The color of the jewels are small faint pink to rectangle-like hard grimy navy blue, yet the light they reflect range from purple to white.. Magnificent!

And in between a certain number of gems are little copper stoppers. We’re not done with their elaborate design just yet; to finish it off, round charms lay where it would hangs in the center when worn.

For one of them, engraved is strange yet seemingly hopeful language, “Joyful Merry & Blessed” as circles and stars surround these words. I do not know one or two words mean, but it seems fun to say—if I’m saying it correcting out loud.

Oh ho ho... such a beautiful creation. I hope to replicate this magnificent beauty.

A force of nature popped in, awash in a sea of pastel tulle and rhinestones. Her mountain of white blonde curls were only bound with a large bow, covered in glitter. Layers of shimmer make-up carefully sculpted each facial feature into a porcelain doll. No less than 4 necklaces hung around her neck, and numerous rings ran up both ears. Her name might as well have been “Sparkle”.

   While her love for splendor screamed, her voice was never more than a whisper. Hello spread subtly through the room, without notice, until the glint of a rhinestone caught another’s eye. That was as it always was with her. No matter how quietly she arrived, once she found the light--and she never failed to find it--everyone knew she was there.

   Most people loved her. Why not? She was pretty. She was soft and feminine. Everything she touched seemed to sparkle like a jewel before she was done with it. Games, art, fanciful adventure, she inspired all of it. When she was around, people seemed to gather closer and treat each other better. She reminded her friends to care. There was just something about her that inspired everyone who saw her.

   A professional people pleaser, effortlessly, she softened hard edges and covered old secrets better left forgotten. She covered them better than anyone who spent most of the day chasing clouds should. But she was not a people person. Her smile never truly reached her eyes.

   All that pretty make-up and well coifed hair slowly melted into a horror. The hidden truth wouldn’t really stay out of sight. It was only a matter of time before she’d repeat anything and everything she’d heard. There was no filter. She had no care for perception or reputation. Her own opinion was the only one that mattered. It was impossible to remove her. Once arrived, she was there until long after the last person left. 

   This girl, in her princess dress and pastel glitter, was dangerous.

I needed to practice descriptions, and I’ve been thinking a lot about snow. So I made my thoughts about snow into a character? It’s a little weird. I don’t know how well everything flows together; thoughts and advice would be good.

~DESCRIPTION PRACTICE~

(Practicing description and describing stuff lol)

Omni Description

The bird perched on a branch, littered in small carol colored berries and light green leaves. They sits calmly, as they survey the area. The dove wore many colors, from pastel green, tamed orange to baby blue and very light purple. The dove’s iris was a vibrant pink and purple with an icy blue beak. A neon green and deep blue slate covered the wing tips. Soon enough, the dove took off.

Birdwatcher Description

There it is... the pink-necked green dove. The suns rays shining on this magnificent dove. I can’t help but adore this beautiful creature; perched up on the branch, scanning its surroundings... For food? Predators? A possible future home?

Whatever it maybe, I must capture this creature in its natural state before it spreads their lime painted wings to soar off into the sky.

Why is this bird such a blessing compared to the rest? (To me anyways.) Well, as an universal charm: A vibrant collage of colors come together on this very bird, from each section of the color range. The colors are sectioned off, flowing from the head to neck to chest, wings, back & tail.

Their own beak is icy blue to bright lime! It’s easy to spot the bird when their head is baby blue, and neck is faded lavender. Oh! When it lands you get to see their orangutan orange chest & slate under the wings. If not, then you’ll see pure lime when it flies.

That lime stays on top of its wings which blends in with the leaves. However without even mentioning the head & neck, the rest of the body up top is baby blue, tail is kinda orange and ends with even more baby blue! I swear that’s its defining color when you think about it!

Finally, their eyes, it’s so captivating. A double iris, the outer iris is a hot fiery pink while the inner iris is calm lavender purple. Two colors that complement each other greatly; thank god this bird can’t actually hypnotize other living things, because it could, everyone would be under its spell.

This is a sight for any birdwatcher would marble at; I am so lucky...

Sensory Meditation #1

Today, I sat in the sun for ten minutes. It heated my skin, feeling like passing rays as though shaded for moments by cloud or cooled by the wisps of breezes playing with strands of hair around my face and over my neck. I heard the tip, tap, rustle of gently shaking tree and bush leaves in the same breeze and the harsher rustle, slap of the flag on a porch over the backdrop of an endless chorus of cricket song. Here and there, more distantly, a songbird twittered, then another, then a long swell of silence before another or the same chimed in again. I could feel the hard earth pressed up against the soles of my feet, and overhead the sun burned bright enough to shut my eyes enough to only hear and feel.

Writing Description Challenge

Describe an otherwise mundane location and make it seem magical. Can be real or made up. I would suggest thinking of a place that you love to be and try to describe it so that the reader feels an inkling of what you feel when you’re there.
