@deseamber - thank you so much for tagging me, from all the ask games that I’ve done, this one was my favourite ♡ Also this is going to be a mess because I’m posting it from mobile, sorry

1.What languages are you studying/ have you studied? •English, German, Korean, Swedish, I only do duolingo with Japanese so i’m not counting that 

2.How long have you been studying? •English - around 12 years •German I had since 4th elementary grade (8 years ago) but I actually started taking it seriously 2 years ago •Swedish I don’t actually remember, it’s been a few months, i’d say around 8 •Korean - I just started 2 weeks ago

3.Did you learn through class or self-study (or both)? •English and German through class, the rest I study of my own accord

4.Why did you learn this language? •English is obvious as @deseamber said •at first when German was forced upon me, I really didn’t like it, I don’t know what happend to me but suddenly my attitude has changed, I started listening to german music and liking the way it sounds, i realised that it’s not as hard as I made it out to be and now I even consider studying in Germany so I really want to know the language perfectly •I once wanted to live in Stockholm and I also like the way swedish sounds •Korean i want to learn because of bts lol, i want to understand Jin’s dad jokes it sounds so fun as well&so far learning it has been pure pleasure

5.What was your major highlight/ milestone in studying your target language? •with English i remember when i was like in 5th grade and there was a text to read, i was so shocked that i understood every word, I started reading fanfics back then too and I felt so proud of myself •Last year I noticed that I understand more and more and I became active srudent. Major highlight was when I was taking an exam and I thought I’m gonna fail horribly, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to write an essay without a dictionary, but I did and I got 80%, I was so proud, my teacher was even more, she told every german teacher in school and every class she has about my result, she called my mum too, love her •no highlights with the others yet :p

6.What was the hardest thing about learning this language? •I never actually studied English, maybe words for quizes, I learned through internet basically. That’s why I am not especially good at grammar, most of the time I use my ‘good’ sense, I don’t actually know the rules lol •German - dem? der? who knows when to use which •Swedish - pronunciation man, what the hell •I’m new, so I’m still learning hangul, I’m sure I’ll have problems with distincting words because of all the possible combinations. Also pronunciation. I know nothing about korean grammar yet, wish me luck lol

7.What resources did you use for this language? •textbooks, duolingo, various other apps for expanding vocabulary, •youtube channel easy german is cool •KoreanClass101.com - this side and their youtube are live saviours, they explain everything perfectly and it seems so easy so far, i love it

8.Any top tips for studying this language? •Work regularly, that’s the key

9.What’s your next major language goal? •I want to use German as comfortably as English, that’s the main goal. By the end of the summer I’d like to be able to have a small talk in Korean. I want to learn French eventually as well… sigh

10.Anything we can do in the tumblr community to get you there? •Keep posting&talking about your love for various languages, I always get extra energy to study and desire to know as many as i can when i see those texts

hey I just wanted to let you know that I watched your live afterwards and I really loved it, I've said it already but you as a person and your work are very inspiring to me. so, I just hope you'll do some reading again, it was nice to hear your interpretation even though English is not my first language and sometimes I didn't catch every single word but still, your voice is very soft and you created a lovely atmosphere

First things first, did you have a good year?

...I honestly don’t know. The first half was awesome - being in Gdańsk and finishing my bachelor was great, the second part... not so much, since Norway was a fail. :D Still, I’m hopeful for what’s coming in the next few months. :) 

16. What food did you try for the first time?

SUSHI. I tried sushi and I actually liked it!

27. Have you done anything that scared you?

OH MY DOG YES. The whole “moving to another country ‘cause I have DREAMS, man” thing was utterly terrifying. :D

35. Who was important to you this year but wasn’t important last year?

Thanks to moving briefly to NO I reunited with a friend from high school who lives in England, and who wrote to me because she liked my blog about Norway. We were never great friends when we were younger, but now it turned out we have a ton of things in common. I’m actually meeting her for coffee today!  

38. What was the best moment of the year for you?

Coming back home from NO in October and seeing my fantastic friends in Gdańsk, the moment after defending my bachelor thesis, coming to Gdańsk in November, coming to Gdańsk in Dec... wait, I’m seeing a trend here. :D
