let it be known that this was the third attempt at this particular drawing (the other two did not survive because i killed them.) maleficent stands to this day as disney's best character design imo I just love to look at her

look I was going through something and I just liked his design okay
Unemployment, surgery and a serious smartphone/social media cleanse all happening at once has made this a weird couple of months. Overall I am shockingly okay. Unrelated, here is a drawing of grown-up Ocellus because I am, for the millionth time, trying to remember how to draw my own characters
It’s the little things
I haven’t even been to Fontaine yet but I am obsessed with this specific screenshot of Freminet
ok so listen I drew this while I was in Italy last year because even though I was travelling outside my home continent for the first time and seeing amazing things, that did not stop me from playing Genshin on my phone and obsessing over Kaeya’s Sumeru outfit (I’m like 5 months sober on Genshin now but I still think of him daily)
I’ve completely lost my ability to do social media this year. I’m still drawing, though rarely, and I still want to share what I draw. I just hate the social media process and I’ve avoided it for so long that it’s started to feel like an insurmountable chore. The prevalence of generative AI hasn’t exactly helped me to feel any desire to be on social media, either. I’ve long abandoned any thought of pursuing art as a career — this was separate from the AI issue, I simply realized it wasn’t for me — and now just create for myself. Still, it’s hard to feel inspired by others’ art when I’m constantly questioning if I’m actually looking at something real. I feel inspired by humans, by their most authentic expressions. When so much of art spaces are being inundated with thieves and imposters, I find myself avoiding those spaces. When I avoid those spaces, I stop seeing the real art too, and it leaves a great abyss behind where that sense of community, encouragement, and collective inspiration used to be.
Nothing is sacred, nowhere is safe, nothing is certain. I commend any and everyone out there who still creates, truly creates, in spite of all that. I hope I can be like you.
Diluc 🦅🦅 I am SO pleased with how this turned out, my colour work sucked so bad a few years ago and I feel like I’m finally getting to a spot where I (kinda) know what I’m doing. Look forward to more Genshin characters drawn exclusively from the torso up, you can’t make me draw all those detailed designs
