Who was this Desert Demon, this creature able to destroy qanats as though they were false idols to be toppled into the sand? Was it a rogue worm? Was it a third force in rebellion-many people? No one believed it was a worm. The water would kill any worm venturing against a qanat. Many Fremen believed the Desert Demon was actually a revolutionary band bent on overwhelming Alia's Mahdinate and restoring Arrakis to its old ways. Those who believed this said it would be a good thing. Get rid of that greedy apostolic succession which did little else than uphold its own mediocrity. Get back to the true religion which Muad'Dib had espoused.

1,2,3,4 ~Desert Demon

1. What kind of car/bike is it and what does it look like?

It’s a ‘72 Chevy Nova with a faded blue paint job and writing and pictures on it. On the driver’s side is the phrase “ad astra per aspera” in white, although none of its currently none of us have any idea what it means.

2. Where did they get their ride?

Cat Eye “inherited” it. She rolled with another crew there for a while, but they were ambushed and they all got ghosted cept for her. So she has their old car now.

3. A good memory associated with it?

Shortly after we got Ernest Ace out of the city we just. Drove. It was kind of like showing off the zones to him, all the different places, all the colors and art spots.

4. A bad memory associated with it?

For Cat its the memory of her whole crew getting ghosted, for me its how Cat was when we met up again after. There was still blood on the seats, and I spent 3 days and as many water rations scrubbing the blood out. There’s a spot in the back where it wouldn’t come out, so I cut it out and just taped over the hole.
