Who was this Desert Demon, this creature able to destroy qanats as though they were false idols to be toppled into the sand? Was it a rogue worm? Was it a third force in rebellion-many people? No one believed it was a worm. The water would kill any worm venturing against a qanat. Many Fremen believed the Desert Demon was actually a revolutionary band bent on overwhelming Alia's Mahdinate and restoring Arrakis to its old ways. Those who believed this said it would be a good thing. Get rid of that greedy apostolic succession which did little else than uphold its own mediocrity. Get back to the true religion which Muad'Dib had espoused.
Ghanima Atreides’ thoughts in reaction to the news of this Desert Demon that’s causing havoc across Arrakis in destroying the qanats that are water channels that turned the desert into lush green lands (Page: 428-429. Novel: Children of Dune. Author: Frank Herbert)
SMOL Oc appreciation post

Justin qualifies as smol, I guess. Skinny lil punk. Height: 5'7"
Ghani is a smol that will cut you. Height: 5'2"
Samir is smol enough at 5'6"
Maura is not smol by human standards but by werewolf standards she is tiny at 5'7".
Anli is pretty tiny at 5'1".
Lastly, shout out to all the ometki who are tiny compared to most everyone else, but especially some big ole Alphrim.

My nights have become sleepless and restless once again.

The United States military conducted airstrikes this weekend in Helmand Province as part of an operation targeting Taliban insurgents. Local officials and residents said women and children were killed.
“A local resident, Aslam Khan, said the home of his brother, Assti Khan, in the Sangin district, was fired upon by a helicopter when he switched on a flashlight to find his shoes.”
When will this end?

A few impressions from the protest in Hamburg against the corrupt afghan regime and the deportations.
Afghanistan is the second most dangerous country in the world. The European governments' 'reckless' decisions to deport people back to a state that has only become more dangerous in their absence is both a violation of international human rights law and of sheer humanity. We think that the deportations of Afghan asylum seekers must stop immediately.
Bring your hearts and your voices and let's change this together. If you aren't outraged, you aren't paying attention.
