@desharbaby honestly here’s my genuine theory: i think this is a test of Pat’s ability at wing to see how he handles it in the VGK system (might as well rn, while guys are out), with the aim of moving him to wing when Jack is in the lineup. because otherwise with Stevie, Karly, Roysie and Eichs ahead of him, he’d be pushed down out of the everyday centre depth, since Nic Roy has 4C in that scenario pretty locked up at this point, with the career-best season he’s having (and they didn’t sign Pat to just have him in the AHL). now, who he ends up being wing on a line with may vary, but if Jack does end up being 1C between Stoney and Patch after all, don’t be surprised if the third line at that point is Dads-Stevie-Patty, which is exactly what we saw as the first line in practice today
