D&AD Design Bridge brief/branding FMP 3 - Evaluation
This project was the most difficult from all three to execute successfully, since on a personal level this was the first time I had attempted to brand something.
The brief required the participants to create a new beauty brand that challenged social conventions and explored this in a new Brand. I picked Skin bleaching in South Asia/South Asian communities as convention/issue that I wanted to tackle; also being an issue where I have personal connections with (being South Asian).
The difficulty of this project came when I struggled to create a brand that would be engaging enough to counteract a culture of skin bleaching. A culture that is so deep seated in South Asian society. It took me a while to narrow down what it was I wanted to sell and promote. Even when I had got it, I still feel like it could be bigger and bolder, sending that message across more strongly as well as selling these products.
In terms of visuals, I do feel like the images worked more strongly than I thought they would. Considering they were Ink drawings and trying to put them into smaller and restrictive dimensions and seeing if they worked was a difficulty. The design part of it was tricky as I had never put my drawings onto packaging, which required me to follow grid systems and margins.
All the bits that are not together all taken apart to show you everything that was designed and produced for this brief!
There are 22 photos in total of this category but I still need to narrow it down.
These where my favourites to photograph.
