one thing about me.. i’m always gonna make dumb fan merch for the girls (gender neutral). it’s almost infuriating seeing the official merch from popular fandoms be so boring. and then the numerous tiktok shop bot shops also regurgitating the same god awful boring designs. where is the fun? the personality?? the cute stuff?! oh right. in my shop lol

lol... am checking my ex workplace atm. A carwrapping company I worked as designer, as student job. Bosses were annoying and generally bad bosses (organisation and communication hell, ignored all corona safety laws during the hot phase)... and before they fired me "because of corona money loss" they let me do a whole catalogue with some generic, adjustable designs that are basically ready to print. (felt bit scammy I gave them like 20 designs they can reuse / sell over and over again... was more worth than my salary. But I was glad to have a job at all back then)

So, now this company has a new logo that looks very logo-creator AI. And they put one of my designs on their new company car. But the logo and that design doesn't fit together 😭 logo has round curves, looks like an armorial. The carwrap design is very sharp geometrical shapes - with futuristic vibe.

The bosses are self taught car wrap designers.... horrible combination when you a silly little student, professionally mediadesign trained and they constantly argue with you over things they taught themselves (or things they don't know shit about) vs what you learned in school by professionals...

I hate that the rise of generative AI has even ruined something as simple as stock photography.

#I just spent over an hour trying to find a stock photo of stage curtains that was not AI #even when I mark off that AI generated results should be excluded they still come up #I hate adobe #designer problems

I'm bordering on phobic of blank pages. Seriously, I'm staring down a bunch of scribbled notes for an infographic right now, and I don't want to pull out a new sheet because then I'm going to realize that I actually have no fresh ideas. Zero. Ziltch. Nadda.
