So I got lion..
and the terminal is janky as fuck. Yeah, the terminal; the thing you expect to be flawless no matter what because it has been around since the 1980's?
Broken.
Well, broken isn't a fair statement. The behaviors have changed, with most of the changes being arbitrary. For example, when the terminal is closed through the proper exit command the user will find upon the next terminal opening you get a list of command history from the previous session. Or I could just use my up arrow like I have been doing for like 12 years.
Also, the themes are broken (unless you used tabbed mode, which is cluttered and annoying) and now there is a stupid icon based upon which folder you are working in on the top of the window. Its a terminal. A text medium to interact with computers. Not a text and some graphics up at the top because we feel like it even though it is unix and it displays your working directory all the time. Someone at apple dropped the ball. And they need to pick the ball up and throw it to me via update. It is a terminal, how do you guys mess this one up? Just don't mess with perfection.
What arrogant person at Apple thought that they were such a great designer they could take a flipping terminal and make it better. FAIL.
Oh, and if you decide to send me that update could you also send me a fix so that my dictionary.app definitions are at the top of the list in spotlight rather than the bottom? OR MAYBE A WAY TO CHANGE IT BACK TO THE OLD BEHAVIOR THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL.
