June 6 through October 27, 2018, the Design Museum Holon will have 'Sagmeister and Walsh: A Retrospective' on view. The exhibition will explore past and new works by Stefan Sagmeister and Jessica Walsh.  Sagmeister and Walsh's daring creativity and playfulness will introduce our audiences, design professionals, and the general public, to the many faces of design. Design Museum Holon is on this year’s shortlist for the ‘Best Emerging Culture Destination of the Year’ Award

Thirty one museums from around the world have been shortlisted for this prestigious award given by the Leading Culture Destination Awards organization.

Design Museum Holon has been shortlisted, along with 4 other institutions, for the ‘Best Emerging Culture Destination of the Year’ in the Middle East. This is the equivalent of “The Oscars for Museums”. 

The Award seeks to recognize and celebrate the success of cultural institutions worldwide, now more than ever defining themselves as centers of attraction for a range of social and leisure activities as well as simply enjoying works of art.

Florian Wupperfeld, Co-founder of Leading Culture Destinations, said:

The museums selected for the Leading Culture Destinations Awards are making a vital contribution to the international cultural panorama and should also be considered in view of their visionary approach and offer, from iconic architecture to audacious programming and management structures, from cross-sector collaborations to Michelin-starred restaurants, late night openings and music performances.

We want to recognize innovators and leaders from around the world, and to become a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities that characterize the sector while  sharing the best practices by both established and emerging institutions.”

The winner is to be announced in October.
