{Breeding Doe, 1-15. OvO }
(Why did I have the feeling I’d get a question about that? XD)
1. What was my inspiration for this fic? How did it come to me?
It was kind of an impulse, really. I was browsing through the kink-meme, and spotted the “Puppy mill” prompt, and… I don’t know what happened XD It just stuck with me and niggled at my brain, until I decided to wrote what was supposed to be a one-shot. Buuuut then all the nice comments followed, and the writing bunnies in my head just went “Well then, better give them more!” The rest just sort of happened on its own, some inspired by comments on later chapters, and other things were plotted out with my first Beta, Missdoodle, who was very helpful.
2. What’s my favorite part of the fic?
The scene where Pitch first meets Butterfly. I just feel like I managed to nail it with the atmosphere.
3. What’s the part of the fic I’m most proud of?
I got two scenes I’m proud of there. The scene where Bunnymund has found out that Badru has been looking in on Pitch, and where the first trial scene where Badru shows his human form.
4.What part of the fic was the hardest for me to write?
Honestly? The beginning XD The very first chapter (which was as mentioned a one-shot), was a bit slow in being written. I had several moments where I went “Oh god, am I REALLY writing this? Yes, yes I am. Do I dare continue? … Yes, yes I do.” Once that, and the two chapters after were written, it got much easier.
5. What part of the fic am I still dissatisfied with?
Hmm… The ending, if just a bit. Sometimes I feel like it’s a bit sudden. And some of the parts where Pitch was awake.
6. Who’s my favorite character in the fic?
Again, I got two XD Butterfly and Badru. Badru, because I am really happy with how he turned out, and Butterfly because… who doesn’t love Butterfly?
7. Were there any major decisions I made about the fic that could have made it go a whole different direction?
Well, I didn’t have anything in mind, but I do think I’ve left it open for some scenes leading to “What if” situations. (like, What if Bunnymund had been more suspicious of Badru, or what if Bunnymund had caught Sandy while he was down in the secret Warren and so on)
8. Was there anything I only learned about the fic after I had finished it? (themes, motifs, symbolism, etc)
If there was any, I can’t really think of any off the top of my head.
9. Did anyone in the fic surprise me by doing anything? If so, what?
Mostly Badru, surprisingly. He turned out much more independant than I expected.
10. If I had to sum up this fic in a sentence, what would it be?
Fucked up, yet intriguing for the right people, I think.
11. If I were to rewrite this fic, what would I change?
Maybe any moments Pitch had of being conscious. Fit a few more in perhaps, maybe even him sensing things while unconscious? Maybe.
12. Did any thing about this fic’s reception surprise me?
Man did it ever. I only expected to get maybe some happy comments from the OP of the original prompt, and that’s about it. I didn’t expect so many people to like it.
13. What were my beta’s major comments about the first draft of this fic?
Mostly she and I both enjoyed it when it came to the feels o3o
14. If I were to write a sequel to this fic, what would it be about?
There is actually one in progress (as the asker knows o3o) said fic is Walkabout, and I just managed to update it the other day.
