10. Tell me about the sort of cover you cannot resist.
I will spend obscene amounts of money on leatherbound books - not necessarily old or antique, just big and preddy like a disney cartoon library. If anyone ever actually looks at my bank statements properly they’re gonna be like ‘has this person found some way to use barnes and noble leatherbound classics as a food source?’ It’s a real real financial problem. Otherwise, I like minimalism and iconography; the closer a cover is to photography the less I like it. I’m wildly attracted to books that are a weird size. House of Leaves winked at me in every bookshop I went into for like four months before I relented and bought it.
13. Pick a book you would adapt for the screen, given unlimited budget and creative freedom.
Mmmm, I think the Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen books would make a crackin netflix show. They got everything: the strong women leads, the interesting magic systems, the monstrous library. I’d be all over that.
I’d be loathe to add any more money to JKTerfRowling’s pockets but I hated the harry potter movies and I feel like a well produced harry potter TV show with a GOT budget would probably draw my eye.
