He scooped up the fox and held him close. "C'mon.... you need rest.... it's.... it's been a long day."

a big part of my anti-interest in “dessknight dies at the end” ideas, along with the gross contradiction with the way toby’s work has handled characters like her, is that it often feels like it loops back to classic pillars of misogyny in fiction. let that girl have a life after (???) instead of being an untouchable symbol of a sweeter time for those around her, whose confirmed death thus represents their moving on. ⬇️this kind of thing doesn’t stop at mother figures you know

toby please make it clear that dessriel was either not a thing or (more preferably, since the former will realistically only ward off a fraction of these people) had something less than ideal/otherwise completely unfit for heteronormative trash going on in chapter 5

i already posted this on the ‘boards but the latest part of my dess age insanity was measuring her sprite from tenna’s flashback against noelle. you could argue toby is generally bad with timelines but the lore combined with 16yo noelle having a few pixels on pre-incident dess makes me more confident
