Simple Destruction Warlock Macros That'll Skyrocket Your DPS!
Simple Destruction Warlock Macros That’ll Skyrocket Your DPS!
Destro Warlocks are a great amount of fun to play, but they feel much more smooth with some simple to use Macros. This time, we’ll be going over some beginner-friendly macros that are 100% safe to use, easy to set up, and can help you boost your damage output! Before we get all macro-y… There are a few things I’d like to mention before we begin talking about all the macros. First of all, I…

So I’m a very casual LFR-raider maining a destro lock...with a lot of stress in my head about how well I’m actually doing.
I never get yelled at or mocked for actual gameplay related problems. I think the worst lfr issue I’ve had was someone asking me if I could spec heals...as a warlock. Yeah, that was weird. Occasionally I get “blinded” by all the crazy lights and colors going on and it sort of fucks me up because I have some sensory issues and ADHD and together it makes some fights total MADNESS. For example, Antoran High Command. But I still get through it most of the time and if I die, it’s often because of all the sensory input and distractions, or just bad RNG mixed with bad timing.
I also tend to be at the top of (or almost top) my skada DPS meter in LFR.
But, what makes me nervous is how different my gameplay is to the recommended style for a Destruction Warlock. I don’t use Grimoire of Servitude. I don’t use the imp. I exclusively use my Grimoire of Supremacy (Perma-Doomguard/Perma-Infernal) and haven’t looked back since. I haven’t used Demonic Gateway for anything but shits and giggles and ONE time in a battleground to see if it helped (it didn’t.) If you compare how I play to Icyveins’ optimizations, you might question if I’m even playing the same class and spec. I forget a few of my utilities a lot, often using just Darkflight when I need mobility or casting Dimensional Rift/conflagrate until the mechanic is done being bullshit and I can be mostly stationary again.
I give out my lock cookies, BRez when asked, and do whatever I might be reasonably asked to or do what I’m reminded to if I accidentally forget. My DPS seems to be very nice all things considered...
So...This is okay...right? I figure since it’s LFR I don’t need to be 100% optimized and following the same boring rotation and skillset as everyone else, so I was wondering if that’s normal/acceptable to do if it’s working for me and no one else seems to care. Just that anxiety is biting me in the ass and I’m looking for validation I guess?
Woot my Scepter of Sargeras maxed out! I love my artifact weapon!
Red outfit for the lovely one.~
Some personal work of my Warlock Kaona. Standing in acid, like every good DPS does.
"Wow, this ticks better than my dots, I wonder if I could figure out how to use this."
And Syandin, the tank, screaming at her in the distance, "FUCKING MOVE, DEAR ELUNE HELP ME!"
I boosted this warlock with my free 90/preorder thang. I couldn't resist orc with that shiny new model they're getting. Casting animations are great too. I got her all transmogged up in just 2 days! ~lucky~
I love how her voidlord is just lookin at her like:

I have a question - I am a semi-casual player (playing 1 year) who recently started trying to gear up my 90 destro lock to raid -- how do I get gear to even attempt finding a raiding guild to start raiding on normal, and later heroic? I'm ivl 478 and I've done half a dozen LFR and seem to get semi good drops. What ivl should I be to start looking for a raiding guild? I use my valor points to upgrade my items as high as they can go. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm really trying to up my game here.
