“I wasn’t aware that I looked concerned.” Elias noted with a small frown. Emotional modulation was still something he wasn’t quite used to - he only ever really had one setting in his old life, to appear calm and collected at all times, to keep his patients at ease. Sometimes things like ‘worry’ slipped through without him registering it now. “‘Make my day’? Why, what do you have?” He cocked his head curiously. Winona didn’t usually land him in trouble - quite the opposite, she had been of great help to him - but he was still a little wary.

The square was thrumming with people, jostling each other to try and peak past the yellow tape erected over the Cyberlife storefront - barren of androids now, the ads cycling on screens above empty podiums. Elias had caught but a glimpse of the news on his owner’s television, and a few groceries misplaced from the fridge to the trash gave enough of an excuse for him to head into the city.

He kept his expression carefully neutral as he hung back from the crowd, watching from a distance and wary to let any curiosity show as he observed their panicked murmurs - a reaction he couldn’t fully understand. The protest had been entirely passive, the androids taken from the store without force, and then his people fleeing back to wherever it was they now hid. He had his suspicions but he didn’t dare to return. There might be few left who would remember him, but shame was enough of a motivator to remain distant. A brief flicker of red flashed at his temple - his hand quickly coming to clasp and rub at the LED while he searched carefully around him to make sure no one had noticed.

The little LED on his right temple momentarily flashed yellow. Indication of calculation as the android looked down at the Detective. "I apologize, Detective Reed," his tone almost monotonous in nature, "I did not mean to offend you. I was merely attempting a compliment given how well you seem to do at avoiding death throughout this position." Being among the police force meant a lot of near death experiences according to his knowledge base, therefor he did not understand what was wrong with his statement to Gavin. Perhaps further observation of the man was needed to understand how he operated.

The further away from the higher end suburbs William got, the more he realized how different he looked. Even by human standards, his outfit might have been considered eccentric, a throw back bygone times.

His senses bombarded by large screens, information about a.... a revolution of sorts? When had all this started? Everything had seemed well with the world outside when he was in what was once his home. Perhaps that was why he had been attacked a few times since arriving in the city. Each time he had made a narrow escape.

He did not know where to turn for answers. Humans did not seem to like him very much. It was hard to find androids that had been awoken like himself. They had been smart to hide. As much as he wanted to hide, he had no idea where to go. He was like a deer caught in headlights. His eyes glued to a screen, hoping for answers. All he ended up with was more fear. He looked around, feeling the humans’ eyes on him. At least these ones were too afraid to approach him so far.

He had never felt so helpless.
