Day three of NaruMitsu week- ☆FREE DAY☆

Here's some Detective!Edgeworth and his assistant, ready to kick some ass (well, Edgeworth is, Phoenix just wants to look badass)

Experimenting with Edgeworth's design for my Sherlock Holmes detective AU

@thewordzombie suggested an AMAZING idea for the detective AU and honestly it suits Miles PERFECTLY

Guess this is cannon now (can I make things cannon in the AU? I'm gonna go with yes)

Would von Karma play a role in early cases maybe? Like assigning Miles stuff to do, so Phoenix actually knows him and how much Miles looks up to him, so when it's figured out that von karma killed Gregory, Phoenix is internally like, "Fuuuuuck, this is gonna hurt Miles SO bad"

Miles does know Von Karma, he was adopted by him when his dad died. Von Karma was in charge of his and his sister's training, and wasn't a very good father (kind of abusive actually, not physically but verbally). Because of that Mikes dislikes him greatly for what he did to him and his sister, and barely stays in contact. When he finds out Von Karma was the one who actually killed his father, though, he's not so much grief-stricken as he is really, really angry. Phoenix was the only reason he didn't go out and kill Manfred on the spot.

Franziska also hates her dad, and was suspected of murdering him afterwards. Miles managed to clear her name but still has his doubts on whether she did or not.

If you keep in the childhood friendship thing, Phoenix would probably be SO concerned upon meeting Miles again and hearing him call himself a sociopath and deny himself feelings. Because not only is that a change from the Miles he knew, but also because it's sooo unhealthy to repress shit. Plus the idea of Miles not feeling would probably make Phoenix really sad, and so would especially the idea of Miles not allowing himself to feel

THESE ARE ALL VERY GOOD IDEAS

What if at some point Phoenix and Miles have to investigate a particularly-gruesome crime scene, and even Miles the "sociopath" is disturbed. Like, Phoenix sees him visibly force himself to stay calm. Like, Miles is trying his best to remain cold and perfect, a mechanical detective, but Phoenix can tell he's not fine and doesn't understand why he's pretending to feel nothing, since being disturbed is a perfectly normal thing to be in the situation

Whenever Phoenix sees that Miles is upset in some way he's almost immediately by his side and hugging him (if Miles lets him- when they're in public he'll just shrug it off). Phoenix and Miles, being the not-very-observent-when-it-comes-to-romance kinds of people they are, see these hugs as only a "friendly comforting". The rest of the world does not especially Maya.
