Day 4 [July 26]: The Five Orange Pips
Option 5: Favorite Filler - Episode 471 : The Uncontrollable Rental Car!
This filler is one of my favorites; it has that right level of tension and emotion that these anime originals just don’t really have anymore.
Kogoro was such a protective and worried parent over his children and it does my heart good to see how much he cares, and we need more moments like that. This man was ready to give his life for these two when they’re in danger and it’s one of the most heartfelt moments we’ve seen him to date. The Mouri family is one of my favorite dynamics in this show, and filler like this one really shows why. Ones like these come far and few in-between, where the animation team makes a filler so good, you kinda wished it was canon but major props to them for making one that honestly puts some canon episodes down. Conan’s plan was great rest assured, but Kogoro was the real mvp in this episode.
