jOuRneY of creating STOOSH

First day of our first semester of Interaction Design and Development we were given the task to create an interactive digital companion/device for our final project. After brainstorming I decided to create a device that assist women to create outfits from within their closet as efficiently and quickly as possible. Being a female myself I know the headache of choosing ones outfits on a daily basis and how time consuming it can become. So I figured if there is an interactive device out there to assist me to select my outfits without me having to input too much thought into it, then I would definitely purchase that device.  

I figured since I will be creating a device targeting the female market; I wanted it to depict the curves of a woman, yet contemporary enough to be a conversational piece. The images above are a few of my inspiration on how I would want the device hardware to look like. Research was done mainly on the internet and through countless brainstorming. New devices such as http://helloivee.com/, closet organization mobile apps such as cloth, closet were also apart of my inspiration. The name that I decided to name this device is called STOOSH (pronounced ST-UU-CH). This name was derived from my Jamaican heritage; which has both positive and negative meanings but I decided to use the positive which is a confident individual and that is what I want the user to feel after using STOOSH; to be able to feel confident in the device that will aid her in selecting outfits that will ultimately have an impact on her daily routines.
