#16 - Death Note (Netflix)

Year - 2017

Plot - A young man finds a mysterious book that claims to take the lives of any person whose name is written in it.

My Review - DeathNote is an anime that I have watched and loved. It is a physiological thriller that opens the discussion for numerous ethical decisions. That said, I had very low expectations for this live action version. I gave it a chance and I have to say the story seemed rushed. Some of the characters were grown adults playing high schoolers, so the believability of the find went down right away. However, the movie does save itself by using fast/unexpected jump scares that are way more gore filled than I would have expected from a Netflix movie...

I give -🔪🔪 Better than I expected but still bad.
