Yall…streets saying Mielle Organics is making people’s hair fall out.

And I can personally attest to this because I’ve been using their Rosemary Mint oil(and in general I think it’s specifically the Rosemary Mint line that was produced after they sold to proctor and gamble) and so has my family. Our hair has been falling out. My own hair has been falling out after using the oil in odd amounts(not normal shedding. Like it was a lot and it was immediately after detangling and blow drying too. During washday most of the shedding comes out during the washing process. I still shouldn’t be losing hair after detangling and blow drying. More in the tags) when it shouldn’t be.

There is an app called Think Dirty that can tell you if your product is toxic, unhealthy, and just plain dirty. You can look up these products yourself to check. If a product is in the red, then it is EXTREMELY toxic to use.

If you’re like me and have been trying to go the natural route with your hair, then these are probably some the products that you have used. I have used most of these and specifically Maui Moisture for the better part of a year and was very confused as to why my curls were falling and why I was experiencing breakage and I thought I was just doing something wrong or that my hair was just becoming wavy. After the Devacurl scandal I was very anxious to see if the products I was using had any toxins and I have to say I am very angry that products that were supposed to be high quality turned out to be toxic.

To put into perspective the damage these products caused, here is a picture of when I was using Shea Moisture back in May 2019 vs Maui Moisture in February 2020. Both pictures are of first day hair and the same exact routine.

My apologies for the low quality, but it is very obvious of the change here.

The damage is practically irreversible because this is straight up chemical damage. It’s almost as bad as bleaching your hair constantly.

PLEASE just use Shea Moisture

I wanted to try something different, so I’ve strayed away from Shea Moisture, which I am regretful for considering it worked so well. Shea Moisture is the only brand that has stayed consistent in quality and is the safest drug store brand to purchase.

I am so sorry to anyone who was taking their curly hair journey seriously and put all of their trust into these products, believing that they would be high quality.

I don't know how many curly followers I have, but since I'm a curly girl I thought I should share this.

Over the last few months there have been hundreds or thousands of people sharing their negative experiences with Devacurl hair products. I have used these products and noticed some adverse effects, though not to the same degree as others.

To all the curly haired folks who follow me, there is a currently a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Devacurl. Devacurl products have been causing hair loss, scalp irritation, and breaking. With no recall, or warnings.
