TIME WAS…
Time was - when the Nazis and the Communists were in bed together - we mocked them. Two implacable opponents carving up neighboring Poland between the pair of them. Of course such criminals could hardly be trusted long term, it was inevitable that one of them would turn on the other. As it happens it was Hitler who broke his word first - imagine doing such a thing…!! Tisk tisk!
Times then had to change and we ended up in an alliance with Stalin to defeat Hitler (his erstwhile ally…!). Hitler and Stalin ended up where they started - implacable opponents.
Today, one minute the developers that control our HOA are totally opposed to Oddo and his development plans. They huffed and puffed at the Planning Commission, denouncing all the violations of Cedar Creek’s standards and regulation. Then - as if by magic - they have a few conversations with Oddo (using the HOA as their useful idiots and Protest Petitions as their bargaining chips) and voila it’s all happiness in developer land…! The objections are withdrawn, also go with the Protest Petitions. All the erstwhile opponents are happy again and the homeowners are the only ones left out of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact!
So into bed together they hop. And every developer can go back to doing what they do…. Making use of all the Cedar Creek homeowner assets for their own financial benefit.
They won’t be happy together for long - their sort never are. But they’ll make money and retain control. And that’s the really important thing after all.
