Arrival

Into the Atlantic spots a ferry, holding a few folks in it. Deverick sat by the edge of the ship, staring at the sea, watching fishes swim by. A green hair shimmered beneath the ocean caught his attention. 'The hell was that?' He thought. Ignoring it, he got up and gathered by his family and his close friend, Selene.

"So, what's the point of going to... wherever the hell we're going?" He asked. Selene shrugged silently, throwing a ball off the walls. "Well, honey, we just need something new, you know?" His mom replied. "But I mean, I liked my old home! I like the calm and quiet of our neighborhood. Why can't we stay for like two more years?!" He protested. "Deverick. Listen, we can't just stay in one place. I miss Canada too, trust me. I didn't even wanna drag all of you here, but I had no choice. Either we suffer in jail, and you live like a goner, or we do a skedaddle." Robert exclaimed. To then, Deverick remains silent.

He then heads back out to the bow, scrolling through his phone. Selene approached him silently to set her head onto the rail. "Selene, do you miss home?" She stirred momentarily," well... yes? No? ...I don't know. I've never known what home felt like." Solemnly, he nods. "Well, you've ever stayed in a place you truly belong?" "...I guess not," tears filled her eyes, but she remained quiet."Well, damn. I-"

The bell interrupted as the boat approached land. The two of them looked up confusingly. "Aaaaand, we're here! Our new home!" Robert yelled, joyfully."Home? Where the hell are we, dad??" "We're in Netherland! I've looked forward to coming here for a long time. It's a wonderful place, I tell ya." Rolling his eyes, Deverick heads down the steps into 'Netherland.' "I've been here before, it wasn't bad," Selene said, following Dev. "Riiiight- anyways, where could we even stay at." "Oh, Devy, we have a long way until we find a place to stay." His mom replied. Groaning, he grabs his stuff from the loader and waits for everyone.

A couple of days passed by, and they approached flying grenades and launchers. "What in the-" There were injured... Goblins? Humans and robots slashing each other. A couple of smoke and debris surrounded the area. Hell, there were screeches of the sirens. "Stay behind, looks like this is some war zone-" Robert warned, "Ya think?" Selene remarked, turning to Dev. "Got your bat?" "Heh, can't go anywhere without my baby-" He swung it up his shoulder. A sword at hand, the two of them attacked. They fought the human as they were attacking the creatures. A lot of we're either knocked out, or stabbed, or even both. Robert and Jenna ran to a safe space in the castle to find... Nobody's here. The body of what looked like the mayor of this town remained. "It's a little warm..." Jenna sighed worryingly. "He... Must have died a while ago..." Stomping back to the door, Robert pushed out to everyone outside; sudden silent filled the air.

"So, what on Earth has been going on here?" Robert shouted. Everyone was mostly silent, fearing the tall, ferocious man. Though, a little spirit approached. "Well, sir. We didn't feel welcome. There were threats to us strange beings. We... We didn't know what to do," They whispered, heading back to their family. "Hmm. So.. you've all lived in anguish?" They all nod mournfully. Robert felt his gut turning. "And.. this 'hate' is not over, I assume?" "Y..yeah," The spirit echoed. Robert looked at Jenny, then to Deverick and Selene, and back to the people. To then, he went inside. After a while, everyone in the center dismissed. Selene looked at Deverick confusingly and continued on her healing towards the injured. Deverick then lay onto a tree, chalking onto the sidewalk the loss meme.
