The Devil’s Urn (Urnula craterium), also known as the Black Tulip, is a fungi found in deciduous woods growing from logs or buried wood. A light wind blew across the opening at the top and a cloud of spores drifted away.

Cool cup fungus on a rotting log. I don't know much about fungi, but I believe this is Urnula craterium, also known as Devil's Urn.
